Abstract

Kemampuan membaca perlu dimiliki oleh siswa agar siswa mendapatkan pengetahuan dan informasi dalam kehidupan sehari harinya. Termasuk juga kepada siswa dengan hambatan intelektual perlunya diajarkan membac agar siswa mendapatkan informasi da wawasan untuk menunjung kehidupan sehari harinya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan K – V – K – V menggunakan metode syllabic yang didukung dengan penggunaan media papan kata di SLB – C Angkasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas mode James Mc Kernan. Tenik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dengan tes dan observasi. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriprif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan siswa mengalami peningkatan kemampuan membaca permulaan kata K – V – K – V. Hasil evaluasi siklus I, peningkatan belum sesuai dengan kriteria yang diharapkan oleh penliti yaitu dengan skors 60 untuk MR dan 57 untuk siswa NS. Sedangkan pada siklus II, kedua peserta mendapatkan skor 97 untuk siswa MR dan 77 untuk siswa NS dan memenuhi kriteria 20 point peningkatan dan siswa mampu untuk membaca kata dengan pola K – V – K – V. Dengan demikian bahwa metode syllabic yang didukung dengan media papan kata mampu meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan kata K – V – K – V siswa hambatan intelektual. ***** The ability to read needs to be owned by students so that students get knowledge and information in their daily lives. Including students with intellectual disabilities need to be taught to read so that students get information and insights to uphold their daily lives. The purpose of this study was to improve the ability of K - V - K - V beginning reading using syllabic method supported by the use of word board media in SLB - C Angkasa. This research uses James Mc Kernan mode class action research method. Data collection techniques were carried out with tests and observations. Data analysis used in this research is quantitative descriptive. The results showed that students experienced an increase in the ability to read the beginning of the word K - V - K - V. The results of the first cycle evaluation, the improvement has not been in accordance with the criteria expected by the researcher, namely with a score of 60 for MR and 57 for NS students. Whereas in cycle II, both participants scored 97 for MR students and 77 for NS students and met the criteria for improving students' ability to read words with the pattern K - V - K - V. Thus, the syllabic method supported by word board media is able to improve the ability to read the beginning of the word K - V - K - V of students with intellectual disabilities.
