Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tiga tujuan, pertama untuk memaparkan makna apa yang tertanam pada diri kiai dan santri dalam berinteraksi di Pondok Pesantren Nurul Iman Al Hasanah. Kedua untuk memaparkan pola interaksi kiai dan santri dengan pendekatan yang berbeda dalam berinteraksi di Pondok Pesantren Nurul Iman Al Hasanah. Ketiga untuk memaparkan apa saja makna yang ingin disampaikan oleh kiai kepada santri dalam pola interaksi yang berbeda. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan dan metode kualitatif. Data yang diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu empat orang kiai diantaranya satu merupakan kiai “kharismatik” dan tiga kiai “dekat dengan santri” serta tiga orang santriwati dan dua orang santriwan yang telah menempuh pendidikan di Pondok Pesantren Nurul Iman Al Hasanah minimal selama empat tahun. Lokasi penelitian ini dilakukan di Pondok Pesantren Nurul Iman Al Hasanah, Leuwiliang, Bogor, Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini dimulai sejak bulan Juni 2022 hingga Januari 2024. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya dua pola interaksi yang berbeda yaitu adanya kiai “kharismatik” dan kiai “dekat dengan santri”. Perbedaan pola interaksi ini berlandaskan pada latar belakang pendidikan masing-masing kiai yang berbeda yaitu kiai “kharismatik” menempuh pendidikan di pondok pesantren selama masa studinya. Kiai yang “dekat dengan santri” menempuh pendidikan tidak hanya di pesantren sehingga mereka tertanam nilai-nilai modern di luar pesantren salaf. Nilai-nilai yang dianut berlandaskan pada kitab yang telah dipelajari di pondok pesantren dan mereka mengadopsi cara bagaimana kedua orang tua para kiai dalam berinteraksi dengan santri. Perbedaan pola ini memiliki tujuan dalam keberlangsungan sistem pendidikan di pesantren. Meskipun Pondok Pesantren Nurul Iman Al Hasanah telah disisipkan nilai-nilai modern dalam sistem pembelajaran dan pola interaksi, tetapi mereka tetap melatenkan nilai-nilai salaf karena masih adanya pembelajaran kitab salaf sehingga masih terbentuknya pola interaksi “kharismatik”. **** This research has three objectives, first to explain what meaning is embedded in kiai and santri in interacting at the Nurul Iman Al Hasanah Islamic Boarding School. Second, to explain the interaction patterns of kiai and santri with different approaches to interacting at the Nurul Iman Al Hasanah Islamic Boarding School. Third, to explain what meaning the kiai wants to convey to the students in different interaction patterns. This research uses a qualitative approach and methods. Data obtained through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The subjects of this research include four kiai, one of whom is a "charismatic" kiai and three kiai who are "close to the santri" as well as three female students and two Islamic boarding school students who have studied at the Nurul Iman Al Hasanah Islamic Boarding School for at least four years. The location of this research was at the Nurul Iman Al Hasanah Islamic Boarding School, Leuwiliang, Bogor, West Java. This research will start from June 2022 to January 2024. This research shows that there are two different patterns of interaction, namely "charismatic" kiai and "close to the santri" kiai. These differences in interaction patterns are based on the different educational backgrounds of each kiai, namely "charismatic" kiai who studied at Islamic boarding schools during their studies. Kiai who are "close to santri" study not only in Islamic boarding schools so that they are instilled with modern values outside of Salaf Islamic boarding schools. The values they adhere to are based on books that have been studied in Islamic boarding schools and they adopt the way the kiai's parents interact with the students. This difference in pattern has a purpose in the sustainability of the education system in Islamic boarding schools. Even though the Nurul Iman Al Hasanah Islamic Boarding School has incorporated modern values into its learning system and interaction patterns, they still retain Salaf values because they still study Salaf books so that "charismatic" interaction patterns are still formed.
