Abstract

*******ABSTRAK***** Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keterkaitan antara sastra dengan filsafat serta kondisi dilema yang dialami oleh tokoh utama di dalam hidupnya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan aspek eksistensialisme tokoh utama dalam novel Kejatuhan dan Hati karya S. Rukiah. Metode yang digunakan merupakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori eksistensialisme yang dipopulerkan oleh Jean Paul Sartre. Hasil dari penelitian ini, yaitu (1) tema novel tersebut ialah dilema tokoh utama, (2) tokoh utama digambarkan dalam tiga fase, pada saat ia di rumah, keluar dari rumah, dan kembali lagi ke rumah, (3) alur cerita merupakan alur campuran, (4) latar berupa tempat, waktu, dan sosial. Sementara itu, analisis aspek eksistensialisme ditemukan hasil sebagai berikut (1) etre-en-soi (ada dalam dirinya/being-in-itself) berupa sesuatu yang berkaitan dengan pikiran dan perasaan tokoh utama, (2) etre-pour-soi (ada untuk dirinya/being-for-itself) berupa segala bentuk tindakan yang berhubungan dengan sesuatu di luar dirinya, kebebasan menentukan pilihan, memberikan negasi atas masyarakat, dan bertanggung jawab atas pilihannya, (3) faktisitas berupa tempat tinggal, lingkungan sekitar, dan kehadiran orang lain. Kata kunci: Eksistensialisme, etre-en-soi, etre pour soi, faktisitas ******ABSTRACT***** This research is motivated by the relationship between literature and philosophy and the nature of the dilemmas faced by the main characters in their lives. The purpose of this study is to describe and interpret aspect of existentialism in the main character in the novel of Kejatuhan dan Hati by S. Rukiah. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. This study uses Jean Paul Sartre’s existentialism theory. The results of this research are (1) the theme of the novel is the main character's dilemma, (2) the main character is described in three phases, when she is at home, leaving the house, and returning home, (3) the storyline is a mixed plot, (4) the setting is place, time and social. Other than that, the analysis of aspects of existentialism found the following results: (1) etre-en-soi (being-in�itself) in the form of something related to Susi's thoughts and feelings, (2) etre�pour-soi (being-for-itself) in the form of all forms of action related to something outside oneself, freedom to make choices, objectify society, and be responsible for the choices, (3) facticity in the form of residence, surrounding environment, and the presence of other people.
