Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui toxic relationship dalam pacaran terhadap interaksi sosial mahasiswa FIS Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif, dengan pendekatan kuantitatif, serta teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket (kuesioner) dan wawancara. Sampel dari penelitian ini berjumlah 63 responden, teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling, dengan kriteria responden yaitu mahasiswa FIS Universitas Negeri Jakarta angkatan 2020-2023 dan pernah mengalami toxic relationship dalam pacaran. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan kategori toxic relationship dalam pacaran yang paling dominan dirasakan mahasiswa FIS Universitas Negeri Jakarta adalah perilaku posesif berupa memantau dan mengawasi setiap langkah pasangan, tidak mempercayai, atau sering mencurigai pasangannya sebagai bentuk cemburu yang berlebihan. Hal itu membuat mereka lebih nyaman untuk menghindari interaksi sosial dengan orang lain, karena takut akan reaksi pasangan mereka dan karena kontrol yang berlebihan. Hal ini dapat mengakibatkan isolasi sosial, di mana mereka merasa terputus dari lingkaran pertemanan dan aktivitas mereka. ***** This study aims to understand the impact of toxic relationships in dating on the social interactions of students at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. This research employs a descriptive method with a quantitative approach, using questionnaires and interviews for data collection. The sample consists of 63 respondents, selected through purposive sampling, with the criteria being students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Jakarta from the 2020-2023 cohorts who have experienced toxic relationships in dating. The results of this study indicate that the most dominant category of toxic relationship experienced by these students is possessive behavior, such as monitoring and supervising every step of their partner, distrust, or frequently suspecting their partner out of excessive jealousy. This makes them more comfortable avoiding social interactions with others, due to fear of their partner's reaction and excessive control. This can lead to social isolation, where they feel disconnected from their circle of friends and activities.
