Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pemahaman multikultural dengan civic virtue peserta didik kelas VIII SMPN 62 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik korelasional dan pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMPN 62 Jakarta dengan populasi kelas VIII sebanyak 287 peserta didik. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan jenis simple random sampling. Sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 74 responden yang dihitung menggunakan rumus slovin dengan persentase ketelitian kesalahan pengambilan sampel yang masih dapat ditoleransi sebesar 10%. Uji persyaratan analisis pada penelitian ini adalah uji normalitas dan uji linearitas. Hasil uji normalitas kedua variabel terdistribusi normal karena memperoleh nilai signifikansi (0,200 > 0,05). Hasil uji linearitas pada kedua variabel adalah linear karena memperoleh nilai signifikansi (0,484 > 0,05). Teknik pengolahan data meliputi uji normalitas, uji linearitas, uji regresi linier sederhana, uji T, dan uji koefisien korelasi product moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat hubungan yang positif antara pemahaman multikultural dengan civic virtue peserta didik. Hal ini diketahui dari hasil uji koefisien korelasi product moment yaitu sebesar 0,618. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan juga perhitungan melalui beberapa uji yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif yang tinggi dan signifikan antara pemahaman multikultural (variabel X) dengan civic virtue peserta didik (variabel Y) pada kelas VIII SMPN 62 Jakarta. Hal ini mengandung arti bahwa semakin tinggi pemahaman multikultural peserta didik maka semakin baik pula civic virtue peserta didik. This study uses correlational techniques and quantitative approaches. This study was conducted at SMPN 62 Jakarta with a population of class VIII of 287 students. Sampling was done using simple random sampling. The sample in this study was 74 respondents calculated using the Slovin formula with a 10% margin of error. The analysis requirement test in this study is the normality test and the linearity test. The results of the normality test of the two variables are normally distributed because they obtain a significance value (0.200 > 0.05). The results of the linearity test on both variables are linear because they obtain a significance value (0.484 > 0.05). Data processing techniques include normality test, linearity test, simple linear regression test, T test, and product moment correlation coefficient test. The results of the study showed that there was a positive relationship between multicultural understanding and students' civic virtue. This is known from the results of the product moment correlation coefficient test, which is 0.618. Based on the results of the study and also calculations through several tests that have been conducted, it can be concluded that there is a high and significant positive relationship between multicultural understanding (variable X) and civic virtue of students (variable Y) in class VIII of SMPN 62 Jakarta.
