Abstract

Studi ini menganalisis lingkungan pembelajaran berbasis socioscientific issues yang dirancang untuk mencapai pendidikan untuk pembangunan berkelanjutan pada kurikulum merdeka. Studi ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana persepsi peserta didik ketika dihadapkan dengan isu sosial sains. Isu yang digunakan berkaitan dengan konsep larutan elektrolit dan non elektolit dalam kurikulum kimia SMA. Metodologi kualitatif digunakan melalui beberapa pengumpulan data wawancara semi-terstruktur, refleksi jurnal, lembar observasi, dan lembar kerja peserta didik dengan 35 peserta didik kelas 10 di salah satu SMA Swasta di Depok. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa peserta didik berhasil terlibat aktif dalam proses pembelajaran berkat hubungan positif dan dukungan guru sehingga memunculkan ketertarikan terhadap pembelajran dan isu yang dibahas sehingga membuat proses pembelajaran menjadi lebih bermakna. Penerapan socioscientific issues dalam pembelajaran kimia telah meningkatkan kemampuan kolaborasi dan komunikasi serta berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam pengambilan keputusan dan pemecahan suatu masalah. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa socioscientific issues memiliki dampak positif dan dapat mengembangkan lingkungan belajar peserta didik dalam pembelajaran kimia pada kurikulum merdeka. Berdasarkan 6 skala yang dinilai menggunakan instrumen constructivist values learning environment survey, seluruh skala telah terpenuhi dan keseluruhan memberikan hasil positif terdahap lingkungan pembelajaran peserta didik. Kesimpulan tersebut diperoleh berdasarkan keaktifan peserta didik, kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan berpendapat dan menghargai pendapat orang lain meningkat. Maka secara keseluruhan, pembelajaran berbasis socioscientific issues yang dinilai menggunakan constructivist values learning environment survey berhasil meningkatkan nilai kesadaran lingkungan peserta didik.***** This study analyzes a socioscientific issues-based learning environment designed to achieve education for sustainable development in the Merdeka curriculum. The study explores how students perceive when confronted with social science issues. The issues used relate to the concepts of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions in high school chemistry curriculum. Qualitative methodology was employed through several data collection methods including semi-structured interviews, journal reflections, observation sheets, and student worksheets involving 35 tenth-grade students from a private high school in Depok. The research findings indicate that students were successfully engaged in the learning process due to positive relationships and teacher support, which fostered interest in learning and the issues discussed, thereby making the learning process more meaningful. The application of socioscientific issues in chemistry education enhanced students' collaboration, communication, critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. The results revealed that socioscientific issues have a positive impact and can develop students' learning environments in chemistry education within the Merdeka curriculum. Based on the 6 scales assessed using the constructivist values learning environment survey instrument, all scales were fulfilled and overall provided positive outcomes regarding students' learning environments. These conclusions were drawn based on increased student engagement, critical thinking skills, and the ability to express and respect others' opinions. Therefore, overall, socioscientific issues-based learning assessed using the constructivist values learning environment survey successfully enhanced students' environmental awareness.
