Abstract
***** This research aims to determine the effect of parental academic pressure on test anxiety through the mediation of academic self-efficacy in UTBK 2024 participants. This research uses quantitative methods. The sampling technique is based on purposive sampling technique. The sample obtained was 1005 UTBK 2024 participants. The measurements used in this research included the Test Anxiety Inventory (Spielberger, 1980) to measure test anxiety, Perceived Parental Academic Pressure (Kaynak et al., 2021) to measure parental academic pressure, and Self-Efficacy for Learning and Performance (Pintrich et al., 1991) to measure academic self-efficacy. Hypothesis testing using Multivariate Path analysis with PROCESS by Hayes software shows that there is no influence of parental academic pressure on test anxiety through mediation of academic self-efficacy (95% CI [-0.010, 0.023]). This is because there was no influence of parental academic pressure on academic self-efficacy (β=-0.011, p>0.05). Meanwhile, a negative influence of academic self-efficacy on test anxiety was found (β=-0.615, p<0.05) and a positive total influence of parental academic pressure on test anxiety (β=0.222, p<0.05).
