Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis program full day school yang diterapkan di SMPIT Nururrahman dalam meningkatkan karakter sosial siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori full day school oleh Aep Saifuddin dan Farida Isnawati dan teori karakter sosial oleh Erich Fromm. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitan ini menunjukkan bahwa SMPIT Nururrahman memiliki serangkaian program yang dapat meningkatkan karakter sosial siswa melalui beberapa karakter yaitu: 1) Amanah, melalui program belajar mengajar di kelas dan pelaksanaan program OSIS; 2) rasa hormat, melalui program penyambutan siswa di depan gerbang dan gerakan disiplin sekolah; 3) tanggung jawab, melalui proses belajar mengajar di kelas, kegiatan tahfidz, ekstrakurikuler, puasa sunnah, gerakan disiplin sekolah, dan super camp; 4) kepedulian, melalui proses belajar mengajar di kelas, kegiatan pemotongan hewan Qurban, menjenguk teman yang sakit, dan kolaborasi sekolah dengan lembaga sosial kemanusiaan. Kata kunci : full day school, karakter sosial ***** This study aims to describe and analyze the full day school program implemented at SMPIT Nururrahman in improving students' social character. This study uses the full day school theory by Aep Saifuddin and Farida Isnawati and the social character theory by Erich Fromm. The research method used is qualitative descriptive. The data in this study was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this research show that SMPIT Nururrahman has a series of programs that can improve students' social character through several characters, namely: 1) Amanah, through teaching and learning programs in the classroom and the implementation of the Student Council program; 2) respect, through the program of welcoming students in front of the gate and the school discipline movement; 3) responsibility, through the teaching and learning process in the classroom, tahfidz activities, extracurriculars, sunnah fasting, school discipline movements, and super camps; 4) caring, through the teaching and learning process in the classroom, slaughtering Qurbani animals, visiting sick friends, and school collaboration with social humanitarian institutions.
