Abstract

*****Cheating occurs in various educational environments, one of which is at the lecture level. Some cases found in academic fraud, students choose to be silent and not report it due to several factors. This study aims to determine whether moral disengagement can affect silence (acquiescent silence, quiescent silence, prosocial silence, and opportunistic silence) towards students who witness academic fraud. The sampling technique used in this study was convenience sampling. The sample in this study amounted to 425 active students in Indonesia. There were 79 male respondents and 346 female respondents. The results showed that moral disengagement has a positive effect on the four dimensions of silence in students who witness academic fraud. The positive relationship shows that the higher the moral disengagement, the higher the silence behavior in a person
