Abstract

*****ABSTRAK***** Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui posibilitas untuk menemukan kepengaturan dua jenis karakter fiksi (Dokkaebi dan Constellation) dalam webtoon “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint” dengan menggunakan makna tersirat yang tercipta dari praanggapan yang terdapat dalam tuturan karakter tokoh utama, Kim Dokja. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, penelitian ini menggunakan teori Pemicu Praanggapan Levison dan Jenis-jenis Praanggapan Yule untuk menemukan makna tersirat yang berkaitan dengan kepengaturan karakter-karakter tersebut dengan mempertimbangkan konsep Kepengaturan Foucault. Kemudian, penelitian ini menggunakan konsep Kepengaturan Foucault untuk mengumpulkan fragmen-fragmen kepengaturan yang dilakukan oleh karakter-karaktet tersebut dalam makna-makna tersirat yang ditemukan sebelum menghubungkan semuanya untuk mengonstruksi gagasan kepengaturan mereka dan melihat apakah kepengaturan yang mereka lakukan sejalan dengan definisi Foucault. Data penelitian ini adalah tuturan-tuturan Kim Dokja yang diektrak dari balon dialog, balon pikiran, dan caption. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa menghubungan fragmen-fragmen informasi yang diperoleh dari praanggapan-praanggapan tersebut dapat menunjukkan gagasan kepengaturan Dokkaebi dan Constellation. Di sini, teknik kepengaturan Dokkaebi dan Constellation sebagian besar berjalan sesuai dengan teknik kepengaturan yang didefinisikan oleh Foucault. *****ABSTRACT***** The purpose of this study is to investigate the possibility of finding out the governmentality of two kinds of fictional characters (Dokkaebis and Constellations) in the webtoon “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint” by utilizing the implied meaning created by the presupposition contained in the utterances of the protagonist character, Kim Dokja. Using the descriptive qualitative method, this study deploys the theories of Levinson’s Presupposition Triggers and Yule’s Types of Presupposition before finding the implied meaning related to the characters’ governmentality with the concept of Foucault’s Governmentality in mind. Then, this study utilizes Foucault’s Governmentality concept to gather the fragments of the governmentality conducted by said characters in the found implied meanings before connecting them all to construct the idea of their governmentality and see if their governmentality is in line with Foucault’s definition. The data of this study is Kim Dokja’s utterances extracted from dialogue balloons, thought balloons, and captions. This study found that connecting the fragments of information obtained from the presuppositions could point out the nuance of the governmentality of Dokkaebis and Constellations. Here, the Dokkaebis and the Constellations’ governmentality are mostly in line with the description of governmentality defined by Foucault.
