Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pengaruh model discovery learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis IPA pada siswa kelas V SD. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian quasi experimental dengan pola pretest-posttest control group design. Subjek pada penlitian ini yaitu kelas VA sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VB sebagai kelas kontrol pada SDN Tanjung Barat 07 Pagi dengan jumlah 58 siswa. Hasil penelitian diperoleh beda rata – rata nilai pretest-posttest kelas kontrol sebesar 19,23 dan kelas eksperimen sebesar 23,3 yang kemudian dilakukan uji-t. Data yang telah dihitung, menunjukkan hasil thitung (2,63) yang lebih besar dibandingkan ttabel dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05 dengan nilai = 2,003. Dengan demikian, maka dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif penerapan model discovery learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis IPA pada siswa kelas V SD Kecamatan Jagakarsa. Kata Kunci: Discovery learning , kemampuan berpikir kritis, IPA **** This research aims to determine whether or not there is an influence of the discovery learning model on science critical thinking skills in fifth grade elementary school students. This research uses a quasi-experimental research method with a pretest-posttest control group design pattern. The subjects in this research were class VA as the experimental class and class VB as the control class at SDN Tanjung Barat 07 Pagi, with a total of 58 students. The research results showed that the difference in the average pretest-posttest score for the control class was 19.23 and the experimental class was 23.3, which was then carried out with a t-test. The calculated data shows the result of count (2.63) which is greater than ttable with a significance level of 0.05 and a value = 2.003. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a positive influence of the application of the discovery learning model on the ability to think critically in science in class V elementary school students in Jagakarsa District.
