Abstract
Anak hambatan intelektual memiliki permasalahan yang kompleks dikarenakan keterbatasan intelektual yang dimilikinya. Salah satu dampak yang ditimbulkan adalah hambatan dalam perilaku adaptif yang ditampakkan dalam komunikasi. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengembangkan keterampilan komunikasi anak hambatan intelektual melalui penggunaan model pembelajaran komunikasi kontekstual. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Research and Development (R and D). Pada uji kelayakan, partisipan penelitian ini adalah 14 ahli yang mencakup ahli materi PAUD, Pendidikan khusus, ahli media, desain pembelajaran dan ahli bahasa. Pada uji efektivitas model, total sampel penelitian adalah 9 orang anak hambatan intelektual yang mencakup uji coba terbatas, uji coba skala besar dan uji lapangan operasional. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu lembar kuesioner untuk validasi produk oleh ahli/expert terhadap produk, lembar penilaian keterampilan komunikasi dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan model. Data penelitian dianalisis dengan teknik statistik deskriptif untuk data kuantitatif dan teknik analisisMiles Huberman untuk data kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) keterampilan adaptif yang sulit untuk diajarkan adalah komunikasi, 2) rancang bangun pengembangan model pembelajaran komunikasi kontekstual menggunakan model Borg & Gall yang dikombinasikan dengan model Dick and Carey serta model Rowntree; 3) Model pembelajaran komunikasi kontekstual layak untuk diterapkan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi anak hambatan intelektual di PAUD; 4) Model pembelajaran komunikasi kontekstual efektif diterapkan untuk anak hambatan intelektual di PAUD. Model pembelajaran komunikasi kontekstual berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi anak hambatan intelektual di PAUD dengan berfokus pada percakapan keseharian dan dilaksanakan dalam setting pendidikan inklusif. Kata Kunci: Keterampilan komunikasi, kontekstual, hambatan intelektual, Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini DEVELOPMENT OF LEARNING MODELS CONTEXTUAL COMMUNICATION FOR CHILDREN WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS Farah Arriani Early Childhood Education ABSTRACT Children with intellectual disabilities have complex problems due to their intellectual limitations. One of the impacts is the barriers in adaptive behavior that are displayed in communication. The purpose of the research is to develop the communication skills of children with intellectual disabilities through the use of a contextual communication learning model. This research method uses Research and Development (R and D). In the feasibility test, the participants of this study were 14 experts who included early childhood education material experts, special education experts, media experts, learning design and linguists. In the model effectiveness test, the total sample of the study was 9 children with intellectual disabilities which included limited trials, large-scale trials and operational field tests. The research instruments used were questionnaire sheets for product validation by experts/experts on products, communication skills assessment sheets and model implementation observation sheets. The research data was analyzed by descriptive statistical techniques for quantitative data and Miles Huberman analysis techniques for qualitative data. The results of the study show that: 1) the difficult adaptive skill to teach is communication, 2) the design and development of a contextual communication learning model using the Borg & Gall model combined with the Dick and Carey model and the Rowntree model; 3) The contextual communication learning model is feasible to be applied in improving the communication skills of children with intellectual disabilities in early childhood education; 4) The contextual communication learning model is effectively applied for children with intellectual disabilities in early childhood education. The contextual communication learning model has succeeded in improving the communication skills of children with intellectual disabilities in early childhood education by focusing on daily conversations and implemented in an inclusive educational setting.
