Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis kesalahan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah kontekstual materi perbandingan berbasis teori Nolting. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kualitatif untuk mendeskripsikan hasil tes dan wawancara siswa berdasarkan jenis kesalahan menurut teori Nolting. Tes yang diberikan berupa masalah kontekstual berisi empat soal dimana akan dipilih siswa dengan jenis kesalahan paling sedikit sebanyak dua jenis kemudian siswa diwawancarai untuk dimintai keterangan. Penelitian ini diujikan di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 10 Jakarta pada kelas VIII D, VIII F, dan VIII G. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan berdasarkan teori Nolting siswa mengalami kesalahan pada tahapa pemecahan masalah. Pada tahapan memahami masalah siswa mengalami kesalahz membaca petunjuk, kesalahan konsep, kesalahan aplikasi, kesalahan pengerjaan t dan kesalahan belajar; pada tahapan penyusunan rencana siswa mengal kesalahan konsep, kesalahan pengerjaan tes, dan kesalahan belajar; pada tahapan pelaksanaan rencana siswa mengalami kesalahan kecerobohan, kesalahan aplikasi, dan kesalahan pengerjaan tes; dan pada tahapan memeriksa kembali siswa mengalami kesalahan kecerobohan dan kesalahan pengerjaan tes. This research was to analyze students’ errors in solving contextual in ratio problems based on Nolting’s theory. The method used in this study is qualitative to explain the results of student test and interviews based on the type of error according to Nolting’s theory. The test given consists of contextual problems containing four questions and students with at least two types of errors were then interviewed. The study was tested in class VIII-D, VIII F, and VIII G in SMP Negeri 10 Jakarta. The results of the study showed that students experienced Nolthing’s theory during problem-solving stages. At the stage of understanding the problems students made errors in misread-direction error, concept error, application error, test-taking error, and study error; at the stage of devising a plan students made errors in concept error, test-taking error, and study error; at the stage of carring out the plan students made errors in careless error, application error, and testtaking error; and last at the stage of looking back students made careless error and test-taking error.
