Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan coaching model GAARANTUNG yang terkategori layak, efektif, dan praktis dalam mengoptimalkan kompetensi manajerial kepala sekolah jenjang sekolah dasar (SD) di wilayah perbatasan. Desain penelitian ini merujuk pada penelitian pengembangan dengan mengadopsi langkah-langkah pengembangan dari Design and Development Reseacrh (DDR) tipe 2 dengan metode Mixed Method tipe explanatory sequential design. Pengumpulan data terlebih dahulu dilakukan secara kuantitatif dilanjutkan dengan data kualitatif. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tes, penilaian project, angket kepuasan, dan lembar observasi, instrumen validasi. Selanjutnya data yang diperoleh dianalisis untuk menjawab kelayakan, keefektifan, dan kepraktisan model yang dikembangkan. Analisis kelayakan dilakukan melalui expert judgment, analisis keefektifan dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji Wilxocon, uji N-Gain, serta penilaian project dan analisis kepraktisan didapat melalui lembar observasi serta angket kepuasaan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dari aspek kelayakan, coaching model GAARANTUNG yang dikembangkan berkategori layak, dibuktikan dari penilaian yang diberikan oleh expert yang terdiri dari ahli instrumen, ahli media, dan ahli materi. Selanjutnya, coaching model GAARANTUNG juga berkategori efektif yang dibuktikan melalui melalui uji N-Gain dengan peningkatan signifikan kategori sedang, kemudian uji Wilcoxon yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan kompetensi manajerial kepala sekolah SD setelah mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan, serta analisis kinerja melalui project yang dihasilkan. Hasil analisis kepraktisan menunjukkan bahwa adanya respon positif dari peserta yang mengikuti pelatihan dengan coaching model GAARAANTUNG. Secara keseluruhan, coaching model GAARANTUNG memenuhi kriteria kepraktisan dan kelayakan, serta dapat berkontribusi pada pengembangan keterampilan manajerial kepala sekolah, yang pada gilirannya berdampak positif terhadap pengelolaan sekolah yang optimal dalam menyusun perencanaan sekolah; pengembangkan organisasi sekolah; menciptakan budaya dan iklim sekolah yang kondusif dan inovatif; pengelolaan keuangan sekolah yang sesuai dengan prinsip pengelolaan yang akuntabel, transparan, dan efisien; serta terhadap pemanfaatan kemajuan teknologi informasi bagi peningkatan pembelajaran dan manajemen sekolah. This research aims to develop a coaching model, namely GAARANTUNG, which is categorized as valid, effective, and practical in optimizing the managerial competence of principals at the elementary school (SD) level in border areas. The design of this study is based on Design Development Research (DDR) type 2, with a mixed-methods explanatory sequential design approach. Data collection is initially carried out quantitatively, followed by qualitative data collection. The instruments used in this study included tests, project assessments, satisfaction questionnaires, and observation sheets, which served as validation instruments. Furthermore, the data obtained was analyzed to answer the validity, effectiveness, and practicality of the developed model. Validity analysis is conducted through expert judgment, while effectiveness analysis is evaluated using the Wilcoxon test. Moreover, the N-Gain test, project assessment, and practicality analysis are obtained through observation sheets and satisfaction questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that, from a validity perspective, the coaching model developed by GAARANTUNG is categorized as valid, as evidenced by the assessments provided by experts comprising instrument experts, media experts, and material experts.Furthermore, the GAARANTUNG coaching model is also categorized as effective, which is proven through the N-Gain test with a significant increase in the medium category, then the Wilcoxon test, which shows a significant difference in the managerial competence of elementary school principals after participating in training activities, as well as performance analysis through the resulting projects. The results of the practicality analysis showed a positive response from participants who underwent training with the GAARAANTUNG coaching model. Overall, the GAARANTUNG coaching model meets the criteria of practicality and feasibility and can contribute to the development of managerial skills of school principals, which in turn has a positive impact on optimal school management in preparing school planning, development of school organizations, creating a conducive and innovative school culture and climate; school financial management by accountable, transparent, and efficient management principles; and to the use of information technology advances to improve learning and school management.
