Abstract
Penelitian ini disusun dengan maksud dan tujuan untuk mengukur pengaruh antara status sosial ekonomi dan media sosial terhadap minat belajar anak di Jembatan Kuning, Jakarta Timur. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: (1) pengaruh status sosial ekonomi terhadap minat belajar anak di Jembatan Kuning, Jakarta Timur, (2) pengaruh penggunaan media sosial terhadap minat belajar anak di Jembatan Kuning, Jakarta Timur, dan (3) pengaruh status sosial ekonomi dan media sosial secara simultan terhadap minat belajar anak di wilayah tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Lokasi penelitian terletak di Jembatan Kuning, Jakarta Timur. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 92 orang, dengan teknik penentuan sampel menggunakan non-probability sampling, khususnya purposive sampling. Sampel terdiri dari orang tua yang tinggal di Jembatan Kuning, memiliki anak usia sekolah antara 7 hingga 19 tahun, anak tersebut tinggal bersama orang tua atau tidak sedang diasuh dengan orang lain, dan anak tersebut memiliki akun media sosial. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui dua teknik, yaitu data primer dan sekunder. Data primer diperoleh melalui penyebaran kuesioner, sedangkan data sekunder berasal dari media daring, jurnal, situs web, serta studi literatur. Data yang diperoleh dari kuesioner dalam bentuk skala ordinal terlebih dahulu dikonversikan menjadi data interval menggunakan teknik Method of Successive Interval (MSI) sebelum dilakukan uji statistik. Konversi ini dilakukan agar data memenuhi syarat analisis inferensial, khususnya dalam penerapan uji regresi linier. Analisis data dilakukan dengan teknik deskriptif untuk menggambarkan data, serta analisis inferensial atau pengujian hipotesis statistik. Hasil uji regresi menunjukkan bahwa status sosial ekonomi dan penggunaan media sosial berpengaruh negatif terhadap minat belajar anak. Tingginya status sosial ekonomi dan tingginya intensitas penggunaan media sosial menyebabkan penurunan minat belajar. Kedua variabel tersebut memberikan kontribusi sebesar 20,8%, sedangkan 79,2% sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain seperti teman sebaya, lingkungan belajar, dan dukungan keluarga. The objectives of this research are to determine: (1) the influence of socioeconomic status on children's learning interest in Jembatan Kuning, East Jakarta; (2) the influence of social media usage on children's learning interest in Jembatan Kuning, East Jakarta; and (3) the simultaneous influence of socioeconomic status and social media on children's learning interest in the area. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. The study was conducted in Jembatan Kuning, East Jakarta. The research population consists of 92 individuals, with the sample selected using non-probability sampling, specifically purposive sampling. The sample comprises parents residing in Jembatan Kuning who have school-aged children between 7 and 19 years old, where the children live with their parents or are not under the care of others, and the children have social media accounts. Data collection was carried out using two techniques: primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained through questionnaire distribution, while secondary data came from online media, journals, websites, and literature studies. The questionnaire data, originally in ordinal scale, were first converted into interval data using the Method of Successive Interval (MSI) technique before statistical testing. This conversion was performed to meet the requirements for inferential analysis, particularly for linear regression testing. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive techniques to describe the data and inferential analysis to test the statistical hypotheses. The results of the regression test showed that socioeconomic status and social media usage negatively affect children's learning interest. Higher socioeconomic status and higher intensity of social media usage lead to a decrease in learning interest. These two variables contributed 20.8%, while the remaining 79.2% is influenced by other factors such as peers, learning environment, and family support.
