Abstract

Tuntutan akademik yang semakin tinggi pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir seringkali tidak diimbangi dengan motivasi intrinsik yang kuat. Pada fase ini banyak dari orang tua sudah tidak intens dalam berpartisipasi saat anak di jenjang pendidikan tinggi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis hubungan antara parental involvement dengan mastery motivation. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional. Pada pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik proportionate stratified random sampling. Penelitian ini dilakukan dari bulan November sampai dengan bulan Juli 2025. Responden dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 137 mahasiswa dan dilakukan di Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Hasil penelitian pada uji korelasional menunjukan nilai signifikansi sebesar (sig 2 tailed < 0,05). Hasil ini dapat diartikan bahawa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara mastery motivation dengan parental involvement. Berdasarkan uji koefisien korelasi didapatkan nilai koefisien sebesar 0,330. Hasil ini menunjukan tingkat keeeratan antara antara mastery motivation dengan parental invovelment termasuk kedalam kategori cukup kuat. Masih dibutuhkan penguatan bimbingan dan konseling kepada anaknya yang masih berada di bangku mahasiswa (dimensi guidance and councelling). Untuk penguatan itu pemerintah perlu untuk memberikan penguatan kepada orang tua baik dengan sosialisasi ataupun teknis. ***** Differences in academic demands on students while in higher education often make students feel surprised, which is not balanced with strong intrinsic motivation, in this phase many parents are no longer intense in participating when their children are in higher education. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between parental involvement and mastery motivation. The research method used in the study is quantitative with a correlational approach. The sampling used proportionate stratified random sampling technique. This research was conducted from November to July 2025. Respondents in this study were 137 students and were conducted at the State University of Jakarta. The results of the correlational test showed a significance value of (sig 2 tailed <0.05). These results can be interpreted that there is a significant relationship between mastery motivation and parental involvement. Based on the correlation coefficient test, the coefficient value is 0.330. This result shows that the level of closeness between mastery motivation and parental involvement is included in the strong enough category. There is still a need to strengthen guidance and counseling to children who are still in college (dimesi guidance and councelling). For this strengthening, the government needs to provide strengthening to parents either by socialization or technical.
