Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Geo Cube sebagai media evaluasi pembelajaran geografi terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir spasial peserta didik kelas X di SMAN 78 Jakarta pada materi Pengantar Geografi. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh pentingnya kemampuan berpikir spasial dalam memahami konsep konsep geografi serta perlunya media evaluasi yang inovatif serta menarik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan eksperimen. Metode yang digunakan adalah Pre-Experimental Design dengan bentuk One Group Pre-test and Post-test Design. Teknik pengambilan yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas X SMAN 78 Jakarta. Kelas X-J dijadikan sebagai sampel yang menggunakan Geo Cube sebagai media evaluasi pembelajaran. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa tes kemampuan berpikir spasial yang diberikan sebelum (pre-test) dan sesudah (post-test) perlakuan menggunakan media evaluasi Geo Cube. Hasil analisis data menggunakan uji paired sample t-test menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil pre-test dan post-test. Peningkatan kemampuan berpikir spasial peserta didik tercatat sebesar 5,82% yang tergolong sangat rendah. Indikator dengan peningkatan tertinggi adalah transition (8,33%), sedangkan indikator comparison menunjukkan peningkatan terendah (1,19%). Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulan bahwa Geo Cube memberikan pengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir spasial, namun belum secara optimal mengembangkan kemampuan tersebut.***** This study aims to determine the effect of Geo Cube as an evaluation medium in geography learning on the improvement of spatial thinking skills among tenth-grade students at SMAN 78 Jakarta in the topic of Introduction to Geography. The background of this research is based on the importance of spatial thinking in understanding geographic concepts, as well as the need for innovative and engaging evaluation media. This research employs a quantitative approach with an experimental design. The method used is a Pre-Experimental Design in the form of a One Group Pre test and Post-test Design. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The population of this study includes all tenth-grade students at SMAN 78 Jakarta, with class X-J selected as the sample group using Geo Cube as the evaluation medium. The instrument used in this research is a spatial thinking skills test administered before (pre test) and after (post-test) the treatment using Geo Cube. The data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test, which showed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results. The improvement in students' spatial thinking skills was recorded at 5.82%, which is categorized as very low. The highest improvement was observed in the transition indicator (8.33%), while the lowest was in the comparison indicator (1.19%). Therefore, it can be concluded that Geo Cube has an effect on improving students' spatial thinking skills, although it has not yet been able to develop these skills optimally
