Abstract

Permasalahan perilaku remaja seperti tawuran, penyalahgunaan narkoba, dan lemahnya kontrol emosi mencerminkan rendahnya kecerdasan emosional. Salah satu faktor yang berkontribusi terhadap kondisi ini adalah kurangnya keterlibatan ayah (fatherhood) dalam pengasuhan. Padahal, ayah memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk karakter dan kecerdasan emosional anak, terutama pada masa remaja sebagai fase krusial perkembangan individu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh fatherhood terhadap kecerdasan emosional remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode asosiatif. Populasi terdiri atas 262 siswa kelas X di tiga sekolah yang berlokasi di Kecamatan Jatinegara dengan kriteria remaja yang tinggal bersama ayahnya baik kandung maupun tiri. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 200 responden dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 70% responden berada pada kategori sedang, baik dalam kecerdasan emosional ataupun fatherhood. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa fatherhood berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap kecerdasan emosional remaja, dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (< 0,05) dan kontribusi sebesar 12,8%. Penelitian ini juga menegaskan bahwa semakin tinggi fatherhood (Peran ayah) fmaka semakin tinggi pula kecerdasan emosional remaja. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya keberfungsian peran ayah dalam membimbing remaja mengelola emosi secara sehat ***** Adolescent behavioral problems such as brawls, drug abuse, and poor emotional control reflect low emotional intelligence. One contributing factor to this condition vital role in shaping a child’s character and emotional intelligence, especially during adolescence a critical stage in individual development. This study aims to examine the influence of fatherhood on adolescents’ emotional intelligence. This study employed a quantitative research design utilizing an associative analytical method. The population consisted of 237 tenth-grade students from three schools in the Jatinegara District, with the criteria that participants must have a biological father and live with him. The sample included 200 respondents, selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression. The results showed that 70% of respondents fell into the moderate category in both emotional intelligence and fatherhood. The analysis revealed that fatherhood has a positive and significant influence on adolescents’ emotional intelligence, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a contribution rate of 12.8%. The findings suggest that the higher the fatherhood score, the higher the level of emotional intelligence in adolescents. This research emphasizes the importance of an active and functional father role in guiding adolescents to manage emotions in a healthy and constructive way.
