Abstract

Ekranisasi merupakan proses alih wahana dari karya sastra dongeng ke dalam bentuk film yang tidak hanya memindahkan isi cerita, tetapi juga melibatkan transformasi kreatif untuk menyesuaikan dengan karakteristik media visual. Dalam penelitian ini, teori ekranisasi dari Pamusuk Eneste digunakan sebagai acuan analisis untuk mengidentifikasi perubahan naratif yang terjadi dalam proses adaptasi dongeng Jorinde und Joringel karya Brüder Grimm ke film Jorinde und Joringel karya Bodo Fürneisen. Teori ini membagi perubahan dalam adaptasi ke dalam tiga bentuk, yaitu penciutan (reduction), penambahan (addition), dan perubahan bervariasi (modification), yang masing-masing mencerminkan penyesuaian terhadap tuntutan medium film. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses ekranisasi dongeng Jorinde und Joringel karya Brüder Grimm ke dalam film Jorinde und Joringel karya Bodo Fürneisen serta perubahan yang terjadi pada unsur intrinsik, yaitu tokoh, alur, dan latar, antara dongeng asli dan film hasil adaptasinya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan sumber data berupa rangkaian kalimat dalam bentuk narasi, dialog, dan monolog dalam satu situasi pada dongeng Jorinde und Joringel karya Brüder Grimm yang sudah ditranskripkan dalam bentuk tertulis dan data gambar berupa cuplikan adegan film Jorinde und Joringel karya Bodo Fürneisen yang menunjukkan tokoh, alur, dan latar. Fokus penelitian ini adalah proses ekranisasi yang terletak pada tiga unsur intrinsik tersebut yang tampak mengalami transformasi dalam proses alih wahana dari teks ke visual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 38 data ekranisasi, terdiri atas 2 data penciutan, 31 data penambahan, dan 5 data perubahan bervariasi. Penambahan merupakan aspek yang lebih banyak karena film membutuhkan durasi cerita yang lebih panjang dan visualisasi lebih kreatif dibandingkan dengan dongeng yang singkat. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa proses ekranisasi dalam film ini mengalami beberapa perubahan agar sesuai dengan cara penyampaian dalam media film. Perubahan yang terjadi merupakan bentuk adaptasi kreatif untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dramatik, visual, dan emosional dalam medium baru, namun tetap mempertahankan inti makna cerita aslinya. Proses ini mencerminkan bahwa ekranisasi merupakan bentuk interpretasi ulang yang memungkinkan sebuah karya sastra klasik tetap relevan dan komunikatif dalam konteks budaya kontemporer. Kata kunci: Ekranisasi, Dongeng, Film ***** Ecranization is the process of transferring a literary work such as a fairy tale into a film, which not only conveys the story’s content but also involves a creative transformation to suit the characteristics of the visual medium. In this study, Pamusuk Eneste’s theory of ecranization is used as the analytical framework to identify narrative changes that occur in the adaptation of the Brothers Grimm’s fairy tale Jorinde und Joringel into the film Jorinde und Joringel by Bodo Fürneisen. This theory categorizes changes in adaptation into three forms: reduction, addition, and modification, each reflecting adjustments to the demands of the film medium. The aim of this research is to describe the process of ecranizing the Brothers Grimm’s Jorinde und Joringel into Bodo Fürneisen’s film version, as well as to analyze the changes in intrinsic elements namely characters, plot, and setting between the original fairy tale and its film adaptation. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data sources consisting of sequences of sentences in the form of narration, dialogue, and monologue within a single situation from the Brothers Grimm’s Jorinde und Joringel, which have been transcribed into written form, as well as image data in the form of film stills from Bodo Fürneisen’s Jorinde und Joringel that depict characters, plot, and setting. The focus of this research lies in the ecranization process as reflected in these three intrinsic elements, which undergo transformations in the medium shift from text to visual. The findings reveal 38 instances of ecranization: 2 cases of reduction, 31 cases of addition, and 5 cases of modification. Additions are the most dominant aspect, as films require longer storytelling duration and more creative visualization compared to the brevity of fairy tales. In conclusion, the ecranization process in this film involves several changes to suit the delivery style of the cinematic medium. These changes represent a form of creative adaptation that meets the dramatic, visual, and emotional needs of the new medium, while still preserving the core meaning of the original story. This process illustrates that ecranization is a reinterpretation that allows a classic literary work to remain relevant and communicative within a contemporary cultural context.
