Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pola interaksi sosial antara penghuni kos dan warga lokal, faktor yang mempengaruhi terjadinya interaksi sosial antara penghuni kos dan warga lokal, dan proses integrasi sosial terbentuk antara penghuni kos dan warga lokal dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Data dikumpulkan dari Januari 2025 hingga Mei 2025 di lingkungan Jalan Pemuda III, Rawamangun, Jakarta Timur. Adapun subjek penelitian ini berjumlah tujuh informan yang terdiri dari mahasiswa kos dan warga setempat, serta Ketua RT yaitu pak Johnni sebagai informan triangulasi data. Adapun teori yang digunakan yaitu teori interaksi sosial dan teori integrasi sosial George Simmel. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pola interaksi sosial antara penghuni kos dengan warga lokal adalah interaksi yang masih bersifat fungsional dan terbatas baik dari pihak mahasiswa maupun warga. Faktor yang mempengaruhi interaksi yang antara penghuni kos dengan warga lokal ialah sikap dari kedua belah pihak yang mana kurangnya keterbukaan kedua belah pihak dan kurangnya waktu interaksi antara kedua belah pihak. Karena kurang terbentuknya interaksi sosial yang terjadi antara mahasiswa dan warga lokal maka integrasi sosial pada kedua belah pihak ini belum terbentuk karena kurangnya interaksi sosial. Kata Kunci: Interaksi Sosial, Integrasi Sosial, Mahasiswa Kost, Masyarakat lokal. ***** This study aims to describe the patterns of social interaction between boarding house residents and local residents, the factors that influence social interaction between boarding house residents and local residents, and the process of social integration between boarding house residents and local residents in their daily lives. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques included observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data was collected from January 2025 to May 2025 in the area of Jalan Pemuda III, Rawamangun, East Jakarta. The research subjects consisted of seven informants, including dormitory students and local residents, as well as the RT Chairman, Mr. Johnni, who served as a triangulation informant. The theories used were George Simmel's theory of social interaction and social integration. The results show that the pattern of social interaction between boarding house residents and local residents is still functional and limited on both sides. Factors influencing the interaction between boarding house residents and local residents are the attitudes of both parties, namely a lack of openness on both sides and a lack of interaction time between the two parties. Due to the lack of social interaction between students and local residents, social integration between the two parties has not yet been established because of the lack of social interaction.
