Abstract
Penelitian eksperimen ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan metode membaca Collaborative Strategic Reading dan Independent Reading terhadap membaca pemahaman anak usia 7 tahun di wilayah kecamatan Johar Baru Jakarta Pusat. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas II SDN Tanah Tinggi 01 Jakarta Pusat sebanyak 40 orang. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik random sampling. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen, dengan desain post-test only control design. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan observasi dan analisis dengan menggunakan uji-t. Nilai rata-rata skor kelompok eksperimen sebesar 54,4 dengan varians 71,41, sedangkan kelompok kontrol memiliki rata-rata 47,2 dengan varians 69,96. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa nilai thitung (2,708) lebih besar dari ttabel (2,025) pada taraf signifikansi 0,05, sehingga hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (H1) diterima. Dengan demikian, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan metode Collaborative Strategic Reading dan Independent Reading terhadap membaca pemahaman anak usia 7 tahun, namun Collaborative Strategic Reading mencapai skor lebih tinggi dibandingkan Independent Reading.Oleh sebab itu, guru perlu mengetahui metode dan pembelajaran yang tepat untuk anak usia 7 tahun sehingga dapat menerapkan metode yang bervariasi untuk dapat mengembangkan membaca pemahaman anak usia 7 tahun. Kata Kunci: Metode Membaca, Collaborative Strategic Reading, Independent Reading, Membaca Pemahaman. ***** This experimental study aims to determine the effect of using the Collaborative Strategic Reading and Independent Reading methods on the reading comprehension of 7-year-old children in the Johar Baru District, Central Jakarta. The sample oh this study consisted of 40 second-grade students from SDN Tanah Tinggi 01. Sampling was carried out using a random sampling technique. The research employed an experimental method with a post-test only control group design. Data were collected through observation and analyzed using t-test. The mean score of the experimental group was 54,4 with a variance of 71,41, while the control group obtained a mean score of 47,2 with a variance of 69,96. The results of the hypothesis test showed that t-count value (2,078) was greater than the t-table value (2,025) at a significance level of 0,05, indicating that the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted. Thus, the findings reveal a significant effect of using the Collaborative Strategic Reading and Independent Reading methods on students’ reading comprehension. However, the Collaborative Strategic Reading method achieved a higher score compared to the Independent Reading method. Therefore, teachers need to understand appropriate teaching methods and strategies for 7-year-old students in order to apply varied approaches that can enhance children’s reading comprehension.
