Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis potensi karier pemandu gunung dalam aktivitas pemanduan gunung di Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan melibatkan 61 responden pemandu gunung aktif melalui penyebaran kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa potensi karier pemandu gunung berada pada kategori baik dengan nilai rata-rata 4,33, yang mencerminkan etos kerja, prospek karier, serta profesionalisme yang tinggi. Selain itu, variabel kompetensi pemandu gunung memperoleh rata-rata 4,30, menandakan bahwa para pemandu memiliki kemampuan teknis, pengetahuan medan dan keselamatan, serta sikap profesional yang memadai. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pemandu gunung di Indonesia memiliki kualitas sumber daya manusia yang kompeten dan berpotensi besar dalam mendukung perkembangan pariwisata alam berkelanjutan. ***** This study aims to analyze the career potential of mountain guides within mountain guiding activities in Indonesia. The research applied a quantitative descriptive method by distributing questionnaires to 61 active mountain guide respondents. The findings indicate that the career potential of mountain guides falls into the good category with an average score of 4.33, reflecting strong work ethic, career prospects, and professionalism. Additionally, the competence variable obtained an average score of 4.30, indicating that mountain guides possess sufficient technical skills, knowledge of terrain and safety, and a high level of professionalism. Overall, the results conclude that mountain guides in Indonesia demonstrate competent human resources with significant potential to support the development of sustainable nature-based tourism.
