Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan model Project Based Learning (PjBL) terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi persebaran flora dan fauna di Indonesia dan dunia di kelas XI SMAN 3 Kota Tangerang. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen dan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, kemudian populasi penelitian yaitu seluruh siswa kelas IX yang berjumlah 379 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui Pre-Test dan Post-Test, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan uji Independent Sample T-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai Post-Test kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol, serta hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,01 < 0,05, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan PjBL berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Pengaruh tersebut terutama terjadi pada cakupan materi yang bersifat konseptual dan analitis, meliputi persebaran flora dan fauna berdasarkan wilayah, analisis jenis perlindungan flora dan fauna, serta analisis hubungan antara kondisi lingkungan dengan jenis flora dan fauna., sedangkan pada materi yang bersifat faktual dan hafalan pengaruhnya tidak terlalu dominan. Dengan demikian, model Project Based Learning efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran geografi, khususnya pada materi persebaran flora dan fauna yang menuntut pemahaman keruangan dan analisis hubungan lingkungan. ***** This study aims to examine the effect of the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on students’ learning outcomes in the topic of the distribution of flora and fauna in Indonesia and the world for Grade XI students at SMAN 3 Kota Tangerang. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test, while data analysis was conducted using the Independent Sample T-Test. The results showed that the mean post-test score of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class, and the hypothesis testing indicated a significance value of 0.01 < 0.05, confirming that the implementation of PjBL had a significant effect on students’ learning outcomes. The effect was mainly observed in conceptual and analytical aspects of the material, including patterns of flora and fauna distribution by region and the factors influencing their distribution, while the effect on factual and memorization-based material was less dominant. Therefore, the Project Based Learning model is effective for geography learning, particularly for topics that require spatial understanding and analysis of environmental relationships.
