Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tiga tujuan utama. Pertama, mendeskripsikan konteks sosial SMA Global Sevilla Puri Indah. Kedua, mendeskripsikan implementasi mindfulness dalam membentuk karakter siswa. Ketiga, mendeskripsikan analisis implementasi pendidikan berbasis mindfulness dalam membentuk karakter siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan studi literatur. Penelitian melibatkan 7 informan utama, yaitu perwakilan siswa dari kelas X, XI, dan XII, kepala sekolah, koordinator mindfulness, wali kelas, dan guru Character Building Mindfulness (CBM) di SMA Global Sevilla Puri Indah. Selain itu, terdapat 6 informan triangulasi, yaitu 3 wali murid, 2 alumni, dan 1 penggiat mindfulness dalam pendidikan. Penelitian dilakukan di SMA Global Sevilla Puri Indah, Jakarta Barat. Pengumpulan data berlangsung dari April 2023 hingga Agustus 2024. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan berbasis mindfulness di SMA Global Sevilla Puri Indah diimplementasikan secara sistematis dan terintegrasi dalam struktur serta kultur sekolah, sehingga berkontribusi signifikan terhadap pembentukan karakter peserta didik. Praktik mindfulness yang diterapkan, seperti meditasi, mindful reading, mindful walking, dan mindful movement, terbukti mendukung pengembangan kesadaran diri, kemampuan mengelola distraksi, regulasi emosi, serta keterampilan penguatan diri siswa. Selain berdampak pada ranah individual, mindfulness juga berperan dalam memperkuat interaksi sosial yang harmonis dan menciptakan iklim sekolah yang kondusif. Secara sosiologis, program mindfulness berfungsi sebagai mekanisme institusional yang mendukung stabilitas, integrasi, dan keberlanjutan sistem pendidikan, meskipun dalam pelaksanaannya masih dihadapkan pada berbagai tantangan sosial dan kultural. First, to describe the social context of Global Sevilla Senior High School Puri Indah. Second, to describe the implementation of mindfulness in shaping students’ character. Third, to analyze the implementation of mindfulness-based education in character formation. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and literature study. The study involved 7 primary informants: student representatives from grades X, XI, and XII, the school principal, the mindfulness coordinator, a homeroom teacher, and a Character Building Mindfulness (CBM) teacher at Global Sevilla Senior High School Puri Indah. In addition, there were 6 triangulation informants: 3 parents, 2 alumni, and 1 mindfulness in education practitioner. The research was conducted at Global Sevilla Senior High School Puri Indah, West Jakarta. Data collection took place from April 2023 to August 2024. The results of this study indicate that mindfulness-based education at SMA Global Sevilla Puri Indah is implemented in a systematic and integrated manner within the school’s structure and culture, thereby contributing significantly to the development of students’ character. Mindfulness practices such as meditation, mindful reading, mindful walking, and mindful movement have been shown to support the development of self-awareness, the ability to manage distractions, emotional regulation, and self-strengthening skills among students. Beyond its impact on the individual level, mindfulness also plays a role in strengthening harmonious social interactions and fostering a supportive school climate. From a sociological perspective, the mindfulness program functions as an institutional mechanism that supports stability, integration, and the sustainability of the educational system, despite the presence of various social and cultural challenges in its implementation.
