Abstract
Kemampuan membaca permulaan anak usia dini salah satunya disebabkan oleh faktor peran orang tua. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan peran orang tua dengan kemampuan membaca permulaan pada anak usia 5-6 tahun. Sampel yang digunakan berjumlah 54 orang tua dan anak yang diambil dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian korelasional. Teknik pengambilan data yang dilakukan adalah menyebarkan angket kepada orang tua dan hasil asesmen kemampuan membaca permulaan anak. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Berdasarkan statistik deskriptif dengan statistik inferensial dilakukan dengan tiga cara perhitungan yaitu uji normalitas liliefors, uji linieritas regresi linear sederhana dan uji product moment. Hasil dari uji hipotesis diperoleh rhitung sebesar 0,278 dan rtabel sebesar 0,263 dengan taraf signifikan α = 0,05. Oleh karena itu nilai rhitung > rtabel. Hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Artinya terdapat hubungan antara peran orang tua dengan kemampuan membaca permulaan anak usia 5-6 tahun dengan tingkat hubungan rendah. Kesimpulan ini menekankan peran orang tua tetap menjadi faktor penting namun belum menjadi faktor dominan yang dapat mengembangkan kemampuan membaca permulaan anak. Orang tua harus meningkatkan perannya agar kemampuan membaca permulaan anak lebih meningkat signifikan. ***** Early reading ability in young children is partly influenced by the role of parents. This study aims to determine the relationship between the role of parents and early reading ability in children aged 5-6 years. The sample consisted of 54 parents and children selected using cluster random sampling. This study used a quantitative method with a correlational research design. The data collection techniques used were distributing questionnaires to parents and assessing children's early reading skills. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive statistics and inferential. Based on descriptive statistics with inferential statistics, three calculations were performed, namely the Liliefors normality test, the simple linear regression linearity test, and the product moment test. The results of the hypothesis test obtained rhitung of 0,278 and rtabel of 0,263 with a significance level of α = 0,05. Therefore, the value of rhitung > rtabel. It can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that there is a relationship between the role of parents and the early reading ability of children aged 5-6 years with a low level of relationship. This conclusion emphasizes that the role of parents remains an important factor but is not yet a dominant factor in developing children's early reading skills. Parents must increase their role so that children's early reading skills can improve significantly.
