Abstract
Pembelajaran biologi pada materi ekosistem menuntut keterampilan komunikasi yang baik agar siswa mampu mengemukakan ide, berdiskusi, dan menyajikan informasi secara lisan, tulisan, dan visual, namun kenyataannya keterampilan komunikasi siswa masih tergolong rendah akibat pembelajaran yang kurang interaktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) terintegrasi Window Shopping terhadap keterampilan komunikasi siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment dengan desain pretest–posttest control group design. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 64 siswa kelas X SMAN 12 Jakarta yang terbagi ke dalam kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian meliputi tes keterampilan komunikasi dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan komunikasi siswa pada kelas eksperimen memiliki nilai rata-rata N-gain sebesar 0,76 dengan kategori tinggi, sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,38 dengan kategori sedang. Hasil tersebut mencerminkan berkembangnya keterampilan komunikasi lisan, tulisan, dan visual siswa secara lebih optimal pada kelas eksperimen. Dengan demikian, model PjBL terintegrasi Window Shopping berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan komunikasi siswa dan model pembelajaran ini efektif digunakan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran biologi pada materi ekosistem. ***** Biology learning on ecosystem material requires good communication skills so that students are able to express ideas, discuss, and present information orally, in writing, and visually, but in reality, students' communication skills are still relatively low due to less interactive learning. This study aims to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model integrated with Window Shopping on students' communication skills. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of 64 grade X students of SMAN 12 Jakarta who were divided into an experimental class and a control class. The research instruments included a communication skills test and observation sheets. The results showed that students' communication skills in the experimental class had an average N-gain value of 0.76 in the high category, while the control class had an average N-gain value of 0.38 in the medium category. These results reflect the development of students' oral, written, and visual communication skills more optimally in the experimental class. Thus, the PjBL model integrated with Window Shopping has an effect on students' communication skills and this learning model is effective to be used as an alternative to biology learning on ecosystem material.
