Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Single Subject Research dengan desain A-B-A yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan kemampuan komunikasi ekspresif (mand) pada anak tunagrahita melalui penerapan metode ABA Verbal Behavior (VB). Subjek penelitian adalah seorang siswa kelas V di SLB Negeri 03 Jakarta yang memiliki hambatan intelektual pada tingkat sedang. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan pencatatan frekuensi respon verbal, kemudian dianalisis secara visual dalam kondisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada kondisi baseline pertama (A1), kemampuan komunikasi ekspresif mand subjek berada pada skor 0 dengan kecendrungan arah merata. Selama fase intervensi (B), skor meningkat dari 2 menjadi 5, dengan kecenderungan arah positif dan perubahan level +3. Pada baseline kedua (A2), skor tetap berada di angka 5, menunjukkan keterampilan yang telah diajarkan mampu dipertahankan tanpa intervensi langsung. Hasil perolehan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa metode ABA-VB dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi ekpresif (mand) pada anak tunagrahita sedang dan mempertahankannya pasca intervensi. /(*****) This study used the Single Subject Research method with an A-B-A design to determine changes in expressive communication skills (mand) in children with intellectual disabilities through the application of the ABA Verbal Behavior (VB) method. The research subject was a fifth-grade student at SLB Negeri 03 Jakarta who had moderate intellectual disabilities. Data were collected through observation and recording of verbal response frequencies, then analyzed visually under different conditions. The results showed that in the first baseline condition (A1), the subject's expressive communication skills (mand) scored 0 with a neutral trend. During the intervention phase (B), the score increased from 2 to 5, with a positive trend and a level change of +3. In the second baseline (A2), the score remained at 5, indicating that the taught skills could be maintained without direct intervention. The findings of this study suggest that the ABA-VB method can improve expressive communication skills (mand) in children with moderate intellectual disabilities and maintain them post-intervention.
