Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi pendekatan VAKT dalam pembelajaran bina wicara pada siswa tunarungu pengguna koklea implan kelas VI di SLB Santi Rama. Penelitian ini berfokus pada kegiatan penerapan pendekatan VAKT dalam proses pembelajaran bina wicara yang melibatkan dukungan indra penglihatan, pendengaran, gerakan, dan perabaan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Informan penelitian adalah guru bina wicara tingkat sekolah dasar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pembelajaran bina wicara dilaksanakan menggunakan Metode Maternal Reflektif (MMR) yang didukung oleh teknik meraban, teknik imitasi, dan teknik reaktif. Kegiatan penerapan pendekatan visual dilakukan saat perbaikan pengucapan fonem siswa melalui pengamatan siswa melihat posisi alat ucap yang dicontohkan guru saat perbaikan pengucapan fonem, serta penggunaan media cermin dan tulisan. Kegiatan auditori melalui latihan mengenali, membedakan, dan meniru bunyi bahasa menggunakan bantuan koklea implan. Kegiatan kinestetik melalui aktivitas gerak yang mendukung pemahaman bunyi bahasa. Kegiatan taktil saat perbaikan pengucapan fonem siswa melalui perabaan getaran pada bagian tubuh tertentu. Alat dan media pembelajaran yang digunakan meliputi cermin, buku dan alat tulis, meja, serta koklea implan sebagai penunjang stimulasi auditori. Evaluasi pembelajaran dilakukan secara berkelanjutan melalui pengamatan kemampuan siswa dalam menirukan dan mengucapkan fonem serta penyesuaian tingkat kesulitan latihan sesuai kemampuan siswa. ***** This research aims to describe the implementation of the VAKT approach in speech therapy for deaf students with cochlear implants in grade VI at SLB Santi Rama. This study focuses on the application of the VAKT approach in the speech therapy learning process, which involves visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile support. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research informants were speech therapy teachers at the elementary school level. The results showed that speech therapy was carried out using the Maternal Reflective Method supported by the meraban technique, imitation technique, and reactive technique. The activity of implementing the visual approach was carried out during the improvement of students' phoneme pronunciation thru observation of students seeing the position of the speech organs demonstrated by the teacher during phoneme pronunciation improvement, as well as the use of mirrors and writing. Auditory activities thru exercises to recognize, distinguish, and imitate speech sounds using cochlear implants. Kinesthetic activities thru movement that supports understanding of language sounds. Tactile activities during the improvement of students' phoneme pronunciation thru feeling vibrations on specific body parts. The learning tools and media used included mirrors, books and writing instruments, tables, and cochlear implants to support auditory stimulation. Learning evaluation was carried out continuously by observing students' ability to imitate and pronounce phonemes and adjusting the level of difficulty of the exercises according to the students' abilities.
