Abstract
Pelaksanaan homeschooling menempatkan orang tua sebagai aktor utama dalam proses pembelajaran anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran orang tua, peran dominan yang dijalankan, hambatan yang dihadapi, serta strategi orang tua dalam mengelola hambatan selama proses homeschooling berlangsung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa orang tua berperan sebagai pendamping utama, fasilitator pembelajaran, pembimbing akademik, serta pengelola emosi anak. Peran orang tua, khususnya ibu, terlihat sangat dominan dalam mengatur jalannya pembelajaran. Hambatan yang muncul meliputi penolakan anak terhadap kegiatan belajar, perubahan emosi, serta distraksi lingkungan. Untuk mengatasi hambatan tersebut, orang tua menerapkan berbagai strategi seperti bujukan, pemberian reward, penguatan positif, pengelolaan emosi, dan sikap mengalah secara situasional. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa keberhasilan homeschooling sangat bergantung pada kesiapan dan kemampuan orang tua dalam mengelola proses pembelajaran di rumah. ***** The implementation of homeschooling places parents as the main actors in the child's learning process. This study aims to examine the role of parents, the dominant roles they play, the challenges they face, and the strategies parents use to manage obstacles during the homeschooling process. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that parents act as the main companions, learning facilitators, academic mentors, and managers of children's emotions. The role of parents, especially mothers, appears very dominant in managing the learning process. The obstacles that arise include children's reluctance to engage in learning activities, emotional changes, and environmental distractions. To overcome these obstacles, parents implement various strategies such as persuasion, providing rewards, positive reinforcement, emotion management, and a compromising attitude situational. This study emphasizes that the success of homeschooling is highly dependent on the readiness and ability of parents to manage the learning process at home.
