Abstract

Skripsi ini meneliti tentang gejala pleonasme dalam teks berita daring serta implikasinya terhadap keterampilan menulis teks berita siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis gejala pleonasme dalam teks berita daring yang meliputi bentuk, fungsi dan faktor penyebabnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang dikumpulkan bersumber dari teks berita yang dipublikasi secara daring. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah mengamati, mengidentifikasi, dan menganalisis isi teks berita. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa 50 data yang ditemukan dalam teks berita daring mengandung pleonasme. Pleonasme yang terkandung pada 50 data tersebut terbagi menjadi 8 bentuk, yaitu 24 data mengulang kata, 8 data dua kata bersinonim, 4 data kata depan berlebihan, 4 data kata saling dengan bentuk ulang, 4 data pengulangan bentuk hipernim pada unsur hiponimnya, 3 data bentuk jamak dinyatakan ulang, 2 data pengulangan unsur singkatan yang sudah dinyatakan secara lengkap, dan 1 data kata daripada yang tak perlu. Kemudian, 48 data fungsi penjelasan dan 2 data gaya bahasa. Serta yang terakhir, 47 data pleonasme tercatat disebabkan oleh faktor tidak mengetahui, 2 data sengaja, dan 1 data tidak sadar. Penggunaan pleonasme yang paling ditonjolkan dalam penulisan teks berita daring adalah bentuk mengulang kata, sedangkan yang paling sedikit adalah bentuk kata daripada yang tak perlu. Temuan ini dapat berimplikasi pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia kelas XI fase F, khususnya pada elemen menulis materi teks berita.***** This thesis examines the phenomenon of pleonasm in online news texts and its implications for student’s news writing skills. The study aims to analyze the phenomenon of pleonasm in online news texts, including its forms, functions, and contributing factors. The research method used is qualitative descriptive. Data were collected from news texts published online. The data collection techniques used were observation, identification, and analysis of the news text content. The results of this study indicate that 50 data found in online news texts contain pleonasms. The pleonasms contained in the 50 data were divided into eight forms, namely 24 data repeating words, 8 data with two synonymous words, 4 data with excessive prepositions, 4 data with repeated words, 4 data with repeated plural forms and repetition of hypernym forms in their hyponym elements, 3 plural form data restated, 2 data points with repetition of abbreviations that had already been stated in full, and 1 data point with unnecessary words. Furthermore, 48 data points were explanatory in function and 2 data points were stylistic. Finally, 47 instances of pleonasm were recorded due to ignorance, 2 were intentional, and 1 was unintentional. The most prominent use of pleonasm in online news writing was the repetition of words, while the least prominent was the use of unnecessary words. These findings may have implications for the Indonesian Language subject in grade XI phase F, particularly in the element of writing news text material.
