Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pembentukan keterampilan berpikir kritis anak usia dini melalui kegiatan storytelling di Global Sevilla Kindergarten. Berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu keterampilan abad ke-21 yang perlu distimulasi sejak usia dini melalui pengalaman belajar yang bermakna dan kontekstual. Storytelling dipandang sebagai strategi pedagogis yang efektif karena mampu melibatkan anak secara aktif dalam memahami cerita, mengajukan pertanyaan, memprediksi alur, serta menafsirkan makna cerita. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Subjek penelitian adalah anak kelompok Nursery anak usia 3-4 tahun dan guru kelas yang terlibat langsung dalam kegiatan storytelling. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Kerangka berpikir kritis yang digunakan mengacu pada indikator Facione, yaitu interpretasi, analisis, evaluasi, inferensi, penjelasan (explanation), dan pengaturan diri (self-regulation). Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat memberikan gambaran mendalam mengenai bagaimana kegiatan storytelling berkontribusi dalam membentuk keterampilan berpikir kritis anak usia dini serta menjadi referensi bagi pendidik dalam merancang pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada pengembangan berpikir kritis. ***** This study aims to describe the process of developing critical thinking skills in early childhood through storytelling activities at Global Sevilla Kindergarten. Critical thinking is one of the essential 21st-century skills that needs to be stimulated from an early age through meaningful and contextual learning experiences. Storytelling is considered an effective pedagogical strategy as it actively engages children in understanding stories, asking questions, predicting storylines, and interpreting meanings. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. The research subjects consist of nursery kindergarten 3-4 year old students and classroom teachers who are directly involved in storytelling activities. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The critical thinking framework refers to Facione’s indicators, which include interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, explanation, and self regulation. The findings of this study are expected to provide an in-depth understanding of how storytelling activities contribute to the development of critical thinking skills in early childhood and serve as a reference for educators in designing learning activities that promote critical thinking.
