Abstract

ABSTRAK Listrik memiliki peran penting dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, namun juga menyimpan potensi bahaya, khususnya bagi anak-anak usia sekolah dasar. Berbagai kasus kecelakaan listrik yang melibatkan anak usia 6–8 tahun menunjukkan rendahnya pemahaman anak terhadap risiko penggunaan listrik. Upaya edukasi mengenai bahaya listrik telah dilakukan, tetapi masih belum sepenuhnya menggunakan media pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan tahap perkembangan kognitif anak usia sekolah dasar awal. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, penciptaan ini bertujuan untuk merancang media pembelajaran berupa picture book berjudul Voltino: Sang Pahlawan Listrik sebagai sarana edukasi mengenai manfaat dan bahaya listrik bagi anak usia 6–8 tahun. Picture book ini menghadirkan tokoh superhero Voltino sebagai figur edukatif yang menyampaikan materi kelistrikan melalui narasi sederhana dan ilustrasi visual. Proses penciptaan dilakukan melalui tahapan praproduksi, produksi, dan pascaproduksi, meliputi perancangan karakter, penyusunan draft, pembuatan storyboard, hingga ilustrasi dan pencetakan buku. Hasil penciptaan berupa picture book dengan pendekatan visual-verbal yang disesuaikan dengan karakteristik anak usia sekolah dasar awal. Melalui perpaduan ilustrasi dan teks yang sederhana, buku ini diharapkan dapat membantu anak memahami manfaat listrik, mengenali potensi bahayanya, serta menumbuhkan kesadaran untuk menggunakan listrik secara aman dan bijak dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Various cases of electrical accidents involving children aged 6–8 indicate a lack of understanding of the risks associated with electricity use. Although educational efforts regarding electrical safety have been conducted, they have not fully utilized learning media that are appropriate for the cognitive development stage of early elementary school children. Keywords: Picture book, electrical education, children aged 6–8, children’s illustration, electrical safety. ii Based on these issues, this creation aims to design an educational learning medium in the form of a picture book entitled Voltino: The Electricity Hero as a tool to educate children aged 6–8 about the benefits and dangers of electricity. This picture book features a superhero character, Voltino, as an educational figure who conveys ectrical concepts through simple narratives and visual illustrations. The creation m process consists of pre-production, production, and post-production stages, including character design, draft development, storyboard creation, illustration, and book printing. The result of this creation is a picture book that applies a visual-verbal approach tailored to the characteristics of early elementary school children.
