Abstract
Rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik pada materi sistem reproduksi manusia masih menjadi tantangan dalam pembelajaran biologi, hal ini karena pembelajaran cenderung berpusat pada guru dan kurang memberi ruang pada peserta didik untuk menganalisis masalah secara kolaboratif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Cooperative Problem Solving (CPS) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik SMA. Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi experimental dengan desain pretest-posttest control group, melibatkan kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model CPS dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model Project Based Learning (PjBL). Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada kedua kelas, namun peningkatan pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol dengan nilai mean sebesar 75,03, median 75, dan modus 70. Analisis data menggunakan uji Wilcoxon menghasilkan signifikansi 0,000 (< 0,05) yang menunjukkan adanya pengaruh signifikan penerapan CPS. Nilai N-Gain kelas eksperimen (27,50%) juga lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol (11,30%), menegaskan efektivitas CPS dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah secara lebih konsisten. Penelitian ini mencapai target khusus berupa peningkatan kemampuan peserta didik dalam memahami masalah, merencanakan solusi, melaksanakan strategi, dan mengevaluasi hasil secara sistematis.*****The low level students’ problem-solving skill in the human reproductive system material remains a challenge in biology learning as instruction tends to be teacher-centered and provides limited opportunities for students to collaboratively analyze problems. This study aimed to examine the effect of the Cooperative Problem Solving (CPS) model on senior high school students’ problem-solving abilities. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design, involving an experimental class taught using the CPS model and a control class taught using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model. Data were collected through problem-solving tests and observations of instructional implementation. The result showed an improvement in problem-solving ability in both classes; however, the improvement in the experimental class was higher than that in the control class, in the experimental class showing a mean of 75,03, a median of 75,00, and a mode of 70. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon test produced a significance value of 0,000 (< 0,05) indicating a significant effect of CPS implementation. The N-Gain of the experimental class (27,50%) was also higher than that of the control class (11,30%) reinforcing the effectiveness of CPS in consistently enhacing student’s problem-solving skills. This study successfully achieved its specific target by improving students’ abilities to understand problem, plan solutions, implement strategies, and systematically evaluate outcomes.
