Abstract

Penelitian ini difokuskan pada pemahaman dan analisis mengenai praktik networked individualism dalam interaksi digital followers akun @idextratime pada platform X. Penelitian ini berangkat dari fenomena pergeseran budaya menonton sepak bola dari ruang fisik menuju ruang digital yang mengubah cara individu memperoleh informasi, berinteraksi, dan membangun hubungan sosial. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bentuk interaksi digital followers @idextratime serta menjelaskan bagaimana praktik networked individualism terbentuk dalam ruang digital dengan menggunakan konsep networked individualism yang dikemukakan oleh Barry Wellman. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus yang dipadukan dengan netnografi. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Februari hingga Juni 2026 dengan lokasi penelitian pada akun @idextratime di platform X. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas tujuh orang informan yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi digital, wawancara mendalam, dokumentasi, studi pustaka, serta angket terhadap 100 followers sebagai data pendukung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi digital followers @idextratime membentuk praktik networked individualism yang ditandai oleh hubungan sosial yang berpusat pada individu dan tidak lagi bergantung pada keanggotaan komunitas formal. Praktik tersebut tercermin melalui karakteristik person-to-person network, relational autonomy, network management, multiple ties, permeable boundaries, dan partial membership, yang menunjukkan bahwa followers memiliki kebebasan dalam membangun, mengelola, serta berpindah antarjaringan interaksi sesuai minat dan momentum pertandingan. Dengan demikian, akun @idextratime tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai media penyebaran informasi sepak bola, tetapi juga sebagai ruang sosial digital yang memfasilitasi terbentuknya jaringan interaksi yang fleksibel, dinamis, dan berpusat pada individu. ***** This study focuses on understanding and analyzing the practice of networked individualism in the digital interactions of followers of the @idextratime account on Platform X. The study is based on the phenomenon of the shift in football viewing culture from physical spaces to digital spaces, which has transformed the way individuals access information, interact, and establish social relationships. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the forms of digital interaction among @idextratime followers and to explain how the practice of networked individualism is formed in digital spaces by applying the concept of networked individualism proposed by Barry Wellman. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study method combined with netnography. The research was conducted from February to June 2026, focusing on the @idextratime account on Platform X. The research subjects consisted of seven informants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through digital observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, literature review, and a questionnaire administered to 100 followers as supporting data. The findings reveal that the digital interactions of @idextratime followers reflect the practice of networked individualism, characterized by individual-centered social relationships that are no longer dependent on formal community membership. This practice is reflected in the characteristics of person-to-person networks, relational autonomy, network management, multiple ties, permeable boundaries, and partial membership, indicating that followers have the autonomy to establish, manage, and move across interaction networks based on their interests and match-related momentum. Therefore, the @idextratime account functions not only as a source of football information but also as a digital social space that facilitates the formation of flexible, dynamic, and individual-centered interaction networks.
