Abstract

***** This study aimed to examine the effect of father involvement on self-esteem among women in the emerging adulthood phase. The study employed a quantitative approach using simple linear regression analysis. The instruments used in this study were the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) by Rosenberg (1965) to measure self-esteem and the Father Involvement Scale (Reported) by Finley and Schwartz (2004) to measure father involvement. The participants consisted of 233 women aged 18–25 years whose fathers were still alive. Data were collected online through Google Forms and analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 25 for Windows. The results indicated that father involvement had a significant positive effect on self-esteem among women in emerging adulthood. These findings suggest that higher perceived father involvement is associated with higher levels of self-esteem.
