Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan karakterisasi Ryota Miyagi serta mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk representasi konsep Shared Mental Model dalam interaksi tokoh Ryota Miyagi baik secara verbal maupun nonverbal dalam film The First Slam Dunk karya Takehiko Inoue. Metode deskriptif kualitatif digunakan untuk menganalisis data pada penelitian ini. Data penelitian berupa tuturan dan tindakan Ryota Miyagi serta karakter lain dalam film The First Slam Dunk. Analisis konsep shared mental model menggunakan teori Gorai et al (2023) untuk mengetahui pemahaman kolektif dan sinkronisasi antar anggota tim. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 17 data yang berkaitan dengan konsep shared mental model, yang terdiri atas 12 data interaksi verbal dan 5 data interaksi nonverbal, dengan rincian 14 data merepresentasikan konsep shared mental model dan 3 data merupakan penyimpangan dari konsep tersebut. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa Ryota Miyagi memiliki karakter yang mengedepankan kepentingan tim, tercermin dari caranya berkomunikasi serta kesediaannya menahan ego pribadi demi kemenangan bersama. Dengan demikian, Shared Mental Model memperkuat terbentuknya karakter Ryota Miyagi yang kolektivis dengan mendorongnya mengesampingkan ego pribadi serta memperlancar komunikasi demi terciptanya sinergi dan koordinasi tim yang efektif. ***** This study aims to describe the characterization of Ryota Miyagi and to describe the forms of representation of the Shared Mental Model concept in Ryota Miyagi’s interactions, both verbally and nonverbally, in the movie The First Slam Dunk by Takehiko Inoue. A qualitative descriptive method was used to analyze the data in this study. The research data consisted of utterances and actions of Ryota Miyagi as well as other characters in the movie The First Slam Dunk. The analysis of the Shared Mental Model concept was conducted using the theory of Gorai et al. (2023) to determine the collective understanding and synchronization among team members. The results revealed a total of 17 data related to the Shared Mental Model concept, consisting of 12 verbal interaction data and 5 nonverbal interaction data, with 14 data representing the Shared Mental Model concept and 3 data representing deviations from the concept. The results of the analysis indicate that Ryota Miyagi possesses a character that prioritizes the team's interests, as reflected in his way of communicating and his willingness to suppress personal ego for the sake of collective victory. Therefore, the Shared Mental Model concept reinforces the formation of Ryota Miyagi's collectivist character by encouraging him to set aside personal ego and facilitating communication to create effective team synergy and coordination.
