Abstract
***** This study aimed to examine the influence of family functioning and grit on mental well-being among fresh graduates during the job waiting period in Jabodetabek. This study employed a quantitative approach using a purposive sampling technique. A total of 150 fresh graduates who were in the job waiting period participated in this study. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. Family functioning was measured using the Family Assessment Device-General Functioning (FAD-GF), grit was measured using the Short Grit Scale (Grit-S), and mental well-being was measured using the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale (WEMWBS). The results showed that family functioning and grit simultaneously had a significant effect on mental well-being among fresh graduates during the job waiting period in Jabodetabek. Partially, both family functioning and grit also had a significant effect on mental wellbeing, with grit showing a stronger influence than family functioning. These findings indicate that higher levels of family functioning and grit are associated with higher levels of mental well-being among fresh graduates.
