Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa Indonesia berdasarkan data PISA, serta tuntutan era Revolusi Industri 4.0 dan zaman VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity dan Ambiguity) yang mengharuskan siswa SMK memiliki keterampilan berpikir analitis, rasional, dan adaptif di dunia profesional. Namun, instrumen penilaian di sekolah saat ini masih didominasi oleh soal hafalan dan belum mengacu pada indikator berpikir kritis secara komprehensif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen berpikir kritis berbasis kontekstual yang valid dan reliabel, menganalisis karakteristik instrumen yang efektif, serta menguji validitas dan reliabilitas instrumen tersebut pada elemen komponen otomotif mata pelajaran Dasar-Dasar Teknik Otomotif (DDTO) untuk SMK di Jakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan menerapkan model pengembangan 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Pengukuran instrumen mengacu pada indikator level kognitif Taksonomi Bloom yaitu menganalisis (C4), mengevaluasi (C5), dan mencipta (C6). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa instrumen soal berpikir kritis berbasis kontekstual yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid dan reliabel melalui uji kelayakan ahli (expert judgment), uji validitas empiris, serta uji reliabilitas. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini didapatkan instrumen ini efektif dan layak digunakan sebagai alat evaluasi objektif bagi guru untuk mengukur serta meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMK secara akurat. *********** This research is motivated by the low critical thinking skills of Indonesian students based on PISA data, as well as the demands of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era and the VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity dan Ambiguity) era, which require vocational high school (SMK) students to possess analytical, rational, and adaptive thinking skills in the professional world. However, assessment instruments in schools are still dominated by rote-memorization questions and have not comprehensively referred to critical thinking indicators. This study aims to develop a valid and reliable contextual-based critical thinking instrument, analyze the characteristics of an effective instrument, and test its validity and reliability in the automotive component elements of the Basics of Automotive Engineering (DDTO) subject for SMK in Jakarta. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) applying the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The instrument measurement refers to the cognitive level indicators of Bloom's Taxonomy: analyzing (C4), evaluating (C5), and creating (C6). The results showed that the developed contextual-based critical thinking test instrument was declared valid and reliable through expert judgment, empirical validity testing, and reliability testing. In conclusion, this instrument is effective and feasible to be used as an objective evaluation tool for teachers to accurately measure and improve SMK students' critical thinking skills.
