Abstract
(1985) dan Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE) oleh Diener dkk. (2009). ***** This study aims to determine the effect of job insecurity on the subjective well-being of contract teachers in public schools. A quantitative, non-experimental approach with a survey design was employed, involving 110 contract teachers from public schools. Respondents were selected using a non-probability purposive sampling technique. Job insecurity was measured using the Job Insecurity Scale (JIS) developed by Vander Elst, De Witte, and De Cuyper (2014), while subjective well-being was assessed using the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) by Diener et al. (1985) and the Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE) by Diener et al. (2009). Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression. The results indicate that job insecurity has a significant negative effect on subjective well-being, with an R² value of 0.222 and a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Thus, job insecurity accounts for 22.2% of the variance in subjective well-being, while the remaining 77.8% is explained by factors outside the scope of this study. Higher levels of job insecurity are associated with lower subjective well-being among contract teachers in public schools.
