Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Transformative Learning pada pembelajaran IPA materi perubahan wujud zat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus, yang masing-masing terdiri atas tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 25 siswa kelas III-B SDN Kenari 07 Jakarta Pusat. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes uraian HOTS, lembar observasi, dokumentasi, dan catatan lapangan serta dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan HOTS siswa pada setiap siklus. Persentase ketuntasan belajar meningkat dari 60% pada Siklus I menjadi 72% pada Siklus II dan 88% pada Siklus III. Peningkatan tersebut juga terlihat pada setiap indikator HOTS, yaitu kemampuan (C4) dari 30% menjadi 30,10% dan 34,80%, (C5) dari 21,60% menjadi 21,90% dan 26,70%, serta (C6) dari 20,50% menjadi 20,80% dan 24,60%. Sejalan dengan peningkatan tersebut, total capaian HOTS meningkat dari 72,10% pada Siklus I menjadi 72,80% pada Siklus II dan 86,10% pada Siklus III. Hasil tindakan yang diperoleh dari rata-rata pengamatan aktivitas guru dan siswa juga meningkat dari 66,42% pada Siklus I menjadi 77,61% pada Siklus II dan 96,43% pada Siklus III. Dengan demikian, penerapan model Transformative Learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan HOTS siswa kelas IIIB SDN Kenari 07 pada pembelajaran IPA materi perubahan wujud zat. Kata Kunci: HOTS, Transformative Learning, IPA, PTK, Sekolah Dasar **** This study aimed to improve students’ Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) through the implementation of the Transformative Learning model in science learning on the topic of changes in states of matter. This study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which was conducted in three cycles, each consisting of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 25 third-grade students of Class III-B at SDN Kenari 07, Central Jakarta. Data were collected through HOTS essay tests, observation sheets, documentation, and field notes, and were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive techniques. The results showed an improvement in students’ HOTS in each cycle. The percentage of learning mastery increased from 60% in Cycle I to 72% in Cycle II and 88% in Cycle III. The improvement was also observed in each HOTS indicator, namely analyzing (C4), which increased from 30% to 30.10% and 34.80%; evaluating (C5), which increased from 21.60% to 21.90% and 26.70%; and creating (C6), which increased from 20.50% to 20.80% and 24.60%. In line with these improvements, the total HOTS achievement increased from 72.10% in Cycle I to 72.80% in Cycle II and 86.10% in Cycle III. The action results, obtained from the average observation of teacher and student activities, also increased from 66.42% in Cycle I to 77.61% in Cycle II and 96.43% in Cycle III. Thus, the implementation of the Transformative Learning model can improve the HOTS of third-grade students of Class III-B at SDN Kenari 07 in science learning on the topic of changes in states of matter.
