Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu kompetensi yang perlu dimiliki murid untuk menghadapi tuntutan pembelajaran abad ke-21. Kemampuan ini berperan dalam membantu murid menganalisis informasi, mengevaluasi bukti, menarik kesimpulan, serta menentukan solusi terhadap permasalahan yang berkaitan dengan konsep Biologi. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat memfasilitasi pengembangan kemampuan tersebut adalah model Inquiry-Student Teamss Achievement Divisions (INSTAD). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model INSTAD terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis murid kelas XI SMA Negeri 44 Jakarta tentang Sistem Gerak. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 60 murid yang terdiri atas 30 murid pada kelas eksperimen dan 30 murid pada kelas Discovery Learning yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dinyatakan berdistribusi normal dan homogen, kemudian diuji menggunakan Independent Sample t-test. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,01 (<0,05), sehingga terdapat pengaruh model INSTAD terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis murid. Nilai N-Gain kelas INSTAD sebesar 0,72 lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas Discovery Learning sebesar 0,57. Hasil penelitian memberikan implikasi bahwa model INSTAD dapat menjadi alternatif pembelajaran Biologi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis murid pada materi Sistem Gerak. Kata Kunci: kemampuan berpikir kritis, INSTAD, Inquiry-Student Teams Achievement Division, Sistem Gerak. ***** Critical thinking is an essential competency that students need to develop in order to meet the demands of 21st-century learning. It enables students to analyze information, evaluate evidence, draw conclusions, and determine appropriate solutions to problems related to biological concepts. One learning model that can facilitate the development of these skills is the Inquiry-Student Teams Achievement Division (INSTAD) learning model. This study aimed to analyze the effect of the INSTAD learning model on the critical thinking skills of eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 44 Jakarta in the musculoskeletal system topic. This study employed a quasi-experimental method using a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 60 students, including 30 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class, selected through purposive sampling. The data were normally distributed and homogeneous and were analyzed using an Independent Samples t-test. The results showed a significance value of 0.01 (p < 0.05), indicating that the INSTAD learning model had a significant effect on students' critical thinking skills. The N-Gain score of the experimental class (0.72) was higher than that of the control class (0.57). These findings suggest that the INSTAD learning model can serve as an effective alternative for improving students' critical thinking skills in learning the musculoskeletal system.
