Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis melalui model problem based learning pada pembelajaran IPS. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan sebelumnya bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa masih rendah, sehingga perlu ditingkatkan, model pembelajaran yang digunakan adalah model PBL. Model tersebut ialah model pembelajaran yang bercirikan adanya permasalahan nyata sebagai konteks untuk peserta didik belajar berpikir kritis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerapan model PBL dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan yang menggunakan model Kemmis dan McTaggart. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei sampai Juni 2019. Pelaksanaan penelitian hanya dilakukan sampai siklus II karena ketercapaian dari penerapan model pembelajaran sudah cukup baik dan tidak dilanjutkan ke siklus berikutnya. Pada siklus I siswa yang mencapai KKM adalah 15 siswa, yaitu 63,10%. Pada siklus II siswa yang mencapai KKM sebanyak 26 siswa, yaitu 75,30%, Berdasarkan hasil analisis dari penelitian disimpulkan bahwa adanya peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan menggunakan model problem based learning pada mata pelajaran IPS yang ditandai dengan peningkatan berpikir kritis siswa. This research aims to determine the increase in the ability of critical thinking through the problem based learning model for IPS. Based on previous research that students ' critical thinking skills are still low, So it needs to be improved, The learning model used is the problem based learning model. The model is a learning model that is characterized by real problems as a context for learners to learn critical thinking. The research aims to find out how the implementation of the problem based learning model can improve students ' critical thinking skills. This research is a research action that uses the Kemmis and McTaggart models. The study was conducted in May to June 2019. Research implementation is only done until cycle II because the achievement of the implementation of the learning model is good enough and not continued to the next cycle. On the I cycle the student reaches the KKM is 15 students, which is 63.10%. In the II cycle of students reaching the KKM, 26 students, 75.30%, Based on the analysis of the research concluded that there is an increase in the ability of critical thinking by using problem based learning model on IPS subjects marked with the improvement of critical thinking of students.
