Abstract

*********** Food consumption patterns are crucial to maintaining immune stability so that they can carry out their functions well, partilarly during the current COVID-19 pandemic. This study was conducted to determine the differences in food consumption patterns between culinary and non-culinary Jakarta State University students. As a comparative quantitative study, this study was conducted online from April 2020 to September 2021 at Jakarta State University. The data collecting method used in this study is a survey method and Google Form as a platform. The populations in this study were active students at Jakarta State University, sampled determine by random sampling technique that divided into students of Culinary and non-Culinary. As a result, 268 students were chosen as a sample. The instruments used previously have gone through expert validation tests and then validation tests are carried out using the product moment method where questions are declared valid because the value of r_count > r_(table )and reliability testing using the Cronbach alpha method where 33 question items are declared reliable because the value of the reliability coefficient r_(11 ) > 0.6. The results of calculations using the independent sample t-test showed that there was a significant difference in the food consumption patterns of Culinary and non-Culinary students with p = 0.007 (p < 0.05).
