Abstract

Bahasa sarkastik dapat ditemukan sehari-hari di kehidupan kita. Sarkasme pun sering dijumpai di acara televisi seperti sitkom dan acara bincang-bincang sebagai alat untuk menimbulkan efek humor. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasikan tipe-tipe sarkarsme, mengetahui makna bahasa sarkastik dan pembawa acara paling sarkastik dalam transkrip Fashion Police show, episode 03, season 15 “The 2016 Grammy Award“ dengan menggunakan teori Camp (2011). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif analisis. Hasil dari analisis yang ditemukan penulis ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat 20 ungkapan sarkasme dalam transkrip Fashion Police show. Dari 20 ungkapan sarkasme tersebut, terdapat 10 sarkasme leksikal (50%), 6 sarkasme proposisi (30%), 3 sarkasme perlokusi (15%), dan 1 sarkasme dengan imbuhan awal ‘like‘(5%). Ungkapan sarkasme yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah sarkasme leksikal (50%). Penggunaan ungkapan secara terang-terangan yang sedikit, dikarenakan para pembawa acara lebih banyak memberikan ungkapan positif yang berarti positif namun bermakna negatif jika dilihat dari konteks situasinya. Makna figuratif pun kerap ditemukan sebagai pendukung penggunaan bahasa sarkasme seperti pada penggunaan metafor. Untuk jumlah frekuensi ungkapan sarkastik yang digunakan oleh kelima pembawa acara Fashion Police show tersebut, Melissa Rivers adalah yang paling sarkas dengan total ungkapan sarkasme 8 (40%), diikuti dengan Margaret Cho dengan 7 (35%), Guiliana Rancic dengan 2 (10%), Brad Goreski dengan 2 (10%), dan Nene Leakes dengan 1 sarkasme (5%). Penelitian ini dapat digunakan untuk membantu pembaca lain yang ingin melakukan penelitian mengenai bahasa sarkasme. Sarcastic language exist in our everyday life. Sarcasm usually found in television shows such as sitcoms and talk shows as the tool to gain the humor effect. This study aims at finding out the use of sarcasm in Fashion Police show, episode 03, season 15 “The 2016 Grammy Award“ transcript by using Camp‘s (2011) theory. The method use in this study is descriptive analytical method. The result of the study shows that there are 20 sarcastic utterance in the Fashion Police show. From 20 sarcastic utterances, there are 10 lexical sarcasms (50%), 6 propositional sarcasm (30%), 3 perlocutionary sarcasm (15%), and 1 ‘like‘-prefix sarcasm (5%). The most used sarcasm in the show is lexical sarcasm (50%). Unlike using blatant words, the co-host used sarcastic utterances that are mostly positive words that means also positive but they are actually an inversion meaning of the utterance based on the situation context. Figurative language is also found as a supporting elements in the use of sarcasm language such as metaphor. As for the frequency of sarcastic utterance used by each co-host, from the five co-host of Fashion Police show, Melissa Rivers is the most sarcastic co-host with the total of 8 sarcastic utterances (40%), followed by Margaret with 7 utterances (35%), Guiliana Rancic with 2 (10%), Brad Goreski with 2 (10%), and Nene Leakes with 1 sarcasm (5%). This study also aims to help other readers in knowing more about the sarcasm language.
