Abstract

Pada penelitian ini, penulis membahas jenis-jenis alih kode dan campur kode yang digunakan pada 12 artikel Our Cover di majalah Gogirl!. Teori alih kode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah teori Poplack, dan untuk campur kode menggunakan teori Kachru. Jenis alih kode dan campur kode ini dapat ditentukan berdasarkan penggunaannya dalam setiap kasus. Penulis menggunakan 12 artikel Our Cover di majalah Gogirl sebagai sumber data penelitian. Datanya adalah kata, klausa, frasa, dan kalimat yang terdapat alih kode dan campur kode. Data dikumpulkan dengan instrument centrang dan dianalisis dengan metode deskriptif. Kemudian hasil analisis akan ditampilkan dan dianalisa dalam bentuk persentase. Hasil dari analisis mengungkapkan bahwa terdapat tiga jenis Alih kode yang ditemukan yaitu intra�sentential switching (36,13 %), intersentential switching (11,35 %), tag-switching (5,46%), dan tiga jenis campur kode yaitu unit unit insertion (34,65 %), unit hybridization (9,9%), dan idioms and collocation insertion (2,47 %). Ada dua jenis campur kode yang tidak ditemukan pada artikel tersebut yaitu sentence insertion dan reduplication. ***** In this study, the writer investigated the types of code switching and code mixing in 12 Our Cover articles of Gogirl! magazine. The theory of types of Code switching by Poplack and Code mixing by Kachru were used as the main theories of this research. The types of code switching and code mixing can be determined based on their using in each of case. The writer chose twelve Our Cover articles published in Gogirl! magazine as the data source. The data are are words, phrases, clauses, and sentences which are switched and mixed between English and Indonesia in the articles. The data are collected using check list instrument and analyzed by descriptive analysis. Then, the finding of the analysis are shown and were analyzed in the form of percentage. The result of the analysis showed that in the twelve Our Cover articles of Gogirl! magazine used three types of code switching namely intra�sentential switching (36,13 %), intersentential switching (11,35 %), tag-switching (5,46%), and three types of code mixing namely unit insertion (34,65 %), unit hybridization (9,9%), and idioms and collocation insertion (2,47 %). There were two types of code mixing that did not use in that articles namely sentence insertion and reduplication.
