Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of job stress on Safety Behaviour based on existing literature sources accompanied by valid and reliable data. The research was conducted among generation z employees working in the mining companies in the Sulawesi region, with a sample of 296 generation z employees who have been working for at least one year, selected through accidental sampling method. Data was collected using the Health and Safety Executive – Work-Related Stress Scale (HSE-WRSs) developed by Cousins et al. (2004) and the Safety Behaviour Scale developed by Neal & Griffin (2006) for Safety Behaviour, a 5-point Likert scale. The normality test resulted in a value of 0,200 > 0.050, indicating the data is normally distributed. The heteroskedasticity test with a value of 0.052 > 0.050 indicates the absence of heteroskedasticity. The linearity test with a value of 0.000 < 0.050 means that job stress and safety behaviour have a linear relationship. The regression equation in this study is Y = 29,176–0.037x. Based on the hypothesis test, the significance value is 0.000 < 0.050, means there is significant influence of job stress on safety behaviour with a correlation coefficient of 0,341 and a coefficient determination (R2) of 11,7%.
