Abstract
Dalam era digital, video promosi menjadi alat penting bagi lembaga untuk memperkenalkan identitas, nilai, dan penawarannya. Penelitian ini mengkaji peran penting Director of Photography (D.O.P) dalam proses pembuatan video promosi untuk Fakultas Ilmu Sosial di Universitas Negeri Jakarta.Penelitian ini menjelajahi bagaimana keahlian D.O.P dalam sinematografi, pencahayaan, dan narasi visual memengaruhi kualitas dan efektivitas keseluruhan video promosi. Selain itu, penelitian ini menyelidiki dinamika kolaboratif antara D.O.P, sutradara, dan anggota tim produksi lainnya dalam mencapai tujuan estetika dan naratif yang diinginkan. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian Model Pengembangan ADDIE, yang memiliki 5 tahapan terdiri dari (Analysis), Desain (Design), Pengembangan (Development), Pelaksanaan (Implementation) dan Evaluasi (Evaluation). penelitian ini menggali tanggung jawab kreatif dan teknis yang diemban oleh D.O.P. Temuan penelitian menyoroti hasil kerja dari peranan yang diambil penulis dalam proyek Video Profil (English Version) Fakultas Ilmu Sosial Universitas Negeri Jakara 2024 yang membahas secara menyeluruh dari setiap tahapan pembuatan Video Profil. ***** In the digital era, promotional videos have become an important tool forinstitutions to introduce their identity, values and publications. This research examines the important role of the Director of Photography (D.O.P) in the process of making promotional videos for the Faculty of Social Sciences at Jakarta State University. This research explores how D.O.P's expertise in cinematography, lighting, and visual narrative influences the overall quality and effectiveness of promotional videos. Additionally, this research investigates the collaborative dynamics between the D.O.P, director, and other production team members in achieving the desired aesthetic and narrative goals. Using the ADDIE Development Model research method, which has 5 stages consisting of (Analysis), Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. This research explores the creative and technical responsibilities carried out by D.O.P. The research findings highlight the results of the work taken by the author in the 2024 Video Profile (English Version) project, Faculty of Social Sciences, Jakarta State University, which thoroughly discusses each stage of making a Video Profile
