Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana film “Encanto” karya dari Walt Disney Animation Studios (2021) mencerminkan kecemburuan yang dilihat dari gambaran budaya keluarga dan masing-masing individu di dalamnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan Teori Psikoanalisis dari Sigmun Freud untuk melihat bagaimana kecemburuan tersebut dialami oleh masing-masing individu dan Teori Sosiologi Sastra dari Alan Swingewood untuk melihat bagaimana suatu budaya dari keluarga tersebut bisa memengaruhi kecemburuan dalam individu tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bagaimana pengalaman psikologis individu dan dinamika budaya di film tersebut berinteraksi untuk membentuk respons emosional dan perilaku. Penggunaan realisme magis dalam film ini tidak hanya memperkaya penceritaannya tetapi juga menawarkan gambaran yang bernuansa tentang bagaimana emosi yang berakar seperti kecemburuan dapat mempengaruhi dan mengganggu keharmonisan keluarga. ***** This study aims to examine how the film "Encanto" by Walt Disney Animation Studios (2021) reflects jealousy from the portrayal of family culture and the individual members within it. This research employs Sigmund Freud's Psychoanalytic Theory to understand how jealousy is experienced by each individual, and Alan Swingewood's Sociology of Literature Theory to see how family culture can influence individual jealousy. The results show how individual psychological experiences and cultural dynamics in the film interact to shape emotional responses and behaviour. The use of magical realism in the film not only enriches its storytelling but also offers a nuanced portrayal of how deeply rooted emotions like jealousy can influence and disrupt family harmony.
