Abstract

Internasionalisasi pendidikan tinggi menjadi salah satu strategi utama dalam meningkatkan daya saing global perguruan tinggi di Indonesia, termasuk Perguruan Tinggi Muhammadiyah (PTM). Namun, proses internasionalisasi PTM dihadapkan pada tantangan tata kelola, kepemimpinan yang sesuai dengan nilai-nilai Islam dan budaya organisasi, serta kesiapan digital yang belum optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh Good University Governance, Kepemimpinan Transformasional, dan Pemanfaatan Teknologi Digital terhadap Internasionalisasi PTM, sekaligus mengembangkan model integratif yang sesuai dengan karakteristik PTM. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei terhadap 340 responden yang terdiri atas pimpinan, dosen, dan pengelola unit internasionalisasi di lingkungan PTM. Data dianalisis dengan Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) menggunakan software SmartPLS. Terdapat tujuh hipotesis yang diuji dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Good University Governance dan pemanfaatan Teknologi Digital berpengaruh signifikan positif terhadap Internasionalisasi PTM. Good University Governance juga berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pemanfaatan Teknologi Digital. Selain itu, Kepemimpinan Transformasional berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pemanfaatan Teknologi Digital, tetapi tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Internasionalisasi PTM. Temuan ini mendorong pengembangan konsep Islamic Adaptive Transformational Leadership (IATL) sebagai model kepemimpinan alternatif yang lebih sesuai dengan nilai-nilai Islam dan budaya kolektif di PTM. Pemanfaatan Teknologi Digital terbukti memediasi pengaruh baik Good University Governance maupun Kepemimpinan Tranformasioal terhadap Internasionalisasi PTM. Penelitian ini juga menghasilkan Model Integratif Internasionalisasi melalui penguatan Good University Governance, IATL, dan digitalisasi sebagai kerangka strategis pengembangan PTM di level global. Penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam pengembangan teori kepemimpinan dan tata kelola internasionalisasi di perguruan tinggi berbasis nilai Islam. Implikasi praktis dari penelitian ini antara lain mendorong penguatan Good University Governance, digitalisasi internasionalisasi, serta pengembangan kepemimpinan berbasis IATL di PTM. Penelitian lanjutan disarankan untuk menguji model ini pada konteks perguruan tinggi lain di Indonesia dan kawasan regional. **** The internationalization of higher education has become one of the key strategies for enhancing the global competitiveness of universities in Indonesia, including Muhammadiyah Higher Education Institutions (PTM). However, the internationalization process of PTM faces several challenges, such as governance issues, leadership alignment with Islamic values and organizational culture, and suboptimal digital readiness. This study aims to analyze the influence of Good University Governance,Transformational Leadership, and the Utilization of Digital Technology on the internationalization of PTM, while also developing an integrative model that aligns with the unique characteristics of PTM. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 340 respondents comprising university leaders, lecturers, and internationalization unit managers within PTM. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS software. A total of seven hypotheses were tested in this study. The results indicate that both Good University Governance and the Utilization of Digital Technology have a significant positive influence on the internationalization of PTM. Good University Governance also significantly affects the Utilization of Digital Technology. Additionally, Transformational Leadership significantly influences the Utilization of Digital Technology but does not have a significant effect on the internationalization of PTM. These findings support the development of the Islamic Adaptive Transformational Leadership (IATL) concept as an alternative leadership model more aligned with the collective culture and Islamic values of PTM. The Utilization of Digital Technology is proven to mediate the effects of both Good University Governance and Transformational Leadership on PTM internationalization. This study also proposes an Integrative Model of Internationalization through the Strengthening of Good University Governance, IATL, and Digitalization as a strategic framework for advancing PTM on a global level. This research contributes to the theoretical development of leadership and governance in the internationalization of Islamic values-based higher education. Practical implications include encouraging the strengthening of Good University Governance, advancing digital-based internationalization, and promoting IATL-based leadership development within PTM. Future research is recommended to test this model in other higher education contexts across Indonesia and the broader regional landscape.
