Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penilaian estetika kain ecoprint dengan aplikasi tusuk hias oleh lima panelis ahli berdasarkan penerapan unsur desain yang meliputi unsur desain bentuk, unsur desain warna, dan unsur desain tekstur dan prinsip desain yang meliputi prinsip desain proporsi dan prinsip desain harmoni. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada semester ganjil 2020-2021. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimental dengan desain pre-eksperimental melalui pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan data kualitatif yang bersumber dari wawancara dengan 5 panelis ahli dan dokumentasi yang didapati dengan menelaah dan mempelajari buku, artikel, jurnal, serta situs di internet yang dipandang perlu untuk melengkapi data. Hasil penelitian terhadap penilaian estetika 5 lembar kain ecoprint dengan aplikasi tusuk hias adalah baik dari segi penerapan unsur desain dan prinsip desain. Penerapan unsur desain dalam aspek bentuk dianggap masih kurang dalam hal kejelasan motif namun penggunaan tusuk hias dalam upaya memperjelas motif dinilai baik dan sesuai. Penerapan unsur desain dalam aspek warna dinilai sudah baik karena menggunakan perpaduan warna monokrom bernuansa natural. Penerapan unsur desain dalam aspek tekstur dinilai sudah sangat baik karena penggunaan katun primisima dinilai sudah cocok digunakan dalam ecoprint. Penerapan prinsip desain dalam aspek proporsi dinilai cukup baik dalam hal proporsi antar bentuk motif, namun dinilai masih kurang proporsional antara motif dengan dimensi panel kelima kain. Penerapan prinsip desain dalam aspek harmoni dinilai sudah baik dilihat dari aspek harmoni dalam garis dan bentuk, harmoni dalam ukuran, harmoni dalam tekstur, dan harmoni dalam warna. Dalam penelitian ini, kain nomor 5 dipilih oleh 4 dari 5 panelis sebagai kain dengan penerapan unsur desain dan prinsip desain terbaik. The method that was used for this research is experimental method with pre-experiment design through a qualitative approach. This research uses qualitative data sourced from interviews with 5 expert panelists and documentation found by examining and studying books, articles, journals, and sites on the internet that are deemed necessary to complement the data.The results of the research on the aesthetic assessment of 5 pieces of ecoprintfabric with the application of decorative stitches are good in terms of the application of design elements and design principles. The application of design elements in the form aspect is considered to be lacking in terms of clarity of motif, but theuse of decorative stitches in an effort to clarify the motif is considered good and appropriate.The application of design elements in the color aspect is considered good because it uses a combination of monochrome colors with natural nuances. The application of design elements in the texture aspect is considered very good because the use of primisima cotton is considered suitable for use in ecoprints. The application of the design principle in the aspect of proportion is considered quite good in terms of the proportions between the forms of the motifs, however it is considered to be still not proportional between the motifs and the dimensions of the fifth panel of fabrics. The application of design principles in the aspect of harmony is considered good in terms of the aspects of harmony in lines and shapes, harmony in size, harmony in texture, and harmony in color. In this study, fabric number 5 was chosen by 4 out of 5 panelists as the fabric with the best application of design elements and design principles
